Late reply, but this is wrong af even if we ignore the whole "it's a story with more lore" thing.
The sign of a player who values fashion is one who uses fashionable full sets or mixed sets and is not at all related to skill. Someone who uses uncommon weapons or armor or a mix set with no skills could just as easily be someone who doesn't know what they're doing.
The only TRUE sign of a very skilled player is someone who wears no armor and brings no items to a fight against an Elder Dragon and tells the team to stay in a different area so he can handle it. And wins.
I remember the first time that happened to me. About made me crap my pants.
I remember the time when a Qurupeco summoned a Deviljho.
I had to run away from that big, green, violent wyvern back then.
So ... this is about people who're eager to earn some kind of Darwin Award, right?
but from the looks of it. a few more hits and it would flee or just die. since it's that close to being defeated the stun would give them a good chance for a level three charge, set up traps and just hammer the bird down.
ahh I remember the first time i fought the qurupeco, I was using a long sword, most of my attacks bounce at his wings, and tail. he calls for help. I hated him very much, It took time but he went down in the end but still a tedious battle.
Remember sonic bombing a kut-ku would enrage it after it is back to normal, so not always the best idea to do.
You know bitch you would be a lot more helpful if you spoke up
I think their logic is in a sense that they have travellers from a far away place wearing unknown armor where they don't know how hard or how tough the monster where it came from.
This is not the game, so the author may be going for that realistic "if it is real" kind of reasoning where they can't trust other players since they have no way of proving whether they are good or not. The "pro" duo at the start of chapter 2 wears a royal ludroth armor(weak to fire) against a qurupeco which uses fire attacks. (well if they are good at dodging it won't be a problem.) They go out with their manga character lives on the line so they want to know that the person they are fighting with can help.
not really trying to defend the manga. I mean seriously the supply box would have a sonic bomb if you are fighting a yian kut-ku they could have used it when the "don't-think-charge-only" MC was fighting.
I like the art, but the story is somewhat lacking....
You're right, this isn't a game. So why are they rolling in a group of 3? Go in a group of 4. Or better yet, go with a group of 5, this isn't a game with player limits. And why have them use weapons/armor they may or may not be familiar with? No one tells a leather-wearing spearman "to join our group, you need to use full plate mail and these flintlock guns".
Why you gotta hate on the Kut Ku armor? It makes the player look like a crab when they're knocked down.
This is why you don't let novices take the EZ shock trap from the supply box, what a waste =(
Monster Hunter Orage's better imo
Skilled player. This, or at least in this case, isn't a game. It's "gear up so you won't die." Even if they were so skilled that they won't get hit, they have no way of knowing that. They haven't made a name for themselves to do that.
Also who wears Kut Ku armor for fashion? It's so ugly.
Ugh, this is terrible. Japan must be selling this on the brand alone.
For those who never played Monster Hunter : Using unfamiliar/uncommon weapons/armor is considered to be a sign of a VERY skilled player. The logic being that, said player is so good they can dress for fashion sense instead of damage/defense and make it for it by focusing on the monster's weak point(s)/not getting hit by the monster.
mmmhh...I think I will not read this manga, I like MH but hate stupid main characters who abuse their status, its a weakling with a big voice and can't do teamwork or follow the simplest plan.
Normally he would be the first to die, against a herbivore beast.
Maybe it's a G-rank rathian? While they're using just low rank stuff......
Quick way to die man....
The last monhun manga i read had a good beginning and one of the worst ends ever. This one's beginning was shit, so.. will his one have one of the best endings?
Don't be silly. Its not like the target audience plays the games. /sarcasm
Why don't you go on youporn it seems it's what you are looking for.
to many dicks not enough chicks passing on this broke-back mountain sequel.
THE HUNT IS ON!!!
\m/
at least one wont face its relative the Golden Rathian... right?
Oh a monster hunter manga, insta-follow.
"A couple of months earlier" as the cliffhanger? NOOOOOOOOOOO!
