Sounds like the author has been reading/watching One Piece.
That, and also to make money buy getting the LN out there too. Viewers buy Manga + BDs / DVDs, along with LN. This is almost 100% true if the LN publishing company has ties to the anime production company. Mondaiji for example, literally quadrupled in LN sales immediately after the anime started airing. If the LN company has any idea at all of what they're doing, they would be planning to release a season 2 at some point.
It's not the first time I've heard about that, but it just makes no sense.
The only purpose of an anime is earn money (by selling BDs and DVDs). And by the way they advertise the LN, that's why the autors of manga or LN give permission to the adaptations, but anime and manga/LN has nothing to do, actually.
some say the purpose of anime adaptation of LN is advertisement of the LN.

Now for the manga. I can't believe it ended like that. I was really getting into it. Why cut it short?
Oh well, there's always a second sea- oh wait, the series didn't sell well....not to mention it was Diomedea who animated it. With the exception of Squid Girl, that studio tends to make a single season of a series and that's it, not to mention they cut it short to 10 episodes, well, from observation. They did that with Mondaiji and with Noucome. Sigh. One can still hope. For now, all my eyes are set on Baka Tsuki and their adaption.
