Description: 32-year-old Futaba Kiryu is a manga artist that writes for a weekly shounen magazine. Her latest ongoing manga is a romantic comedy, "Bocchi no Ore kara Riaju no Omaera ni Ittoku" (A Loner Like Me's Got a Lot to Say about You Normies out There) or "Bottoku" for short. It is a best-seller and has an anime adaption on the works. But the truth is, she's completely clueless about romance.

The days go on as she continues on working on her manga with her manga assistants, but soon, one of her assistants, Hiro Asakura (she dubs him as "Assassin" because of his cold and intimidating demeanor), and the anime scriptwriter for the "Bottoku" anime, Kitamura Kyosuke (social media dubs him "The Tactician" for his notoriously clever execution in the anime he's worked in) grow an interest in her and eventually make a move on her. How will Futaba fare in this love triangle when her knowledge of romance is next to nothing?

No thanks please translate lolicon into pedophile every time.

So far so good.

It's just after so many chapters of the MC ranting about social issues we get a shojo moment with the love interest idk it feels weird in a good way.

Also idk which love interest to root for since I like both?

And the translations are good, why are some making a big deal. It's better than chibi manga and other big ones by a mile.

Ikr mate she kinda started to sound like a SJW. "Don't just assume my sexual orientation" BUT luckily wIrzrPd.png

Isn't she saying that "women like romance because society tells them to"? Which is kind of dumb, because PEOPLE are interested in romance. Some more, some less, but it's been a part of human culture for millennia.

While that is part of her argument, she fully acknowledges that people are interested in romance and that she is a minority in the first chapter. Her main argument is that she hates the assumption that she should be in love with love and that people often ignore the ace/aro spectrum. She doesn't hate the idea of love itself but instead hates that people will always assume what's true for them is true for everybody.

This manga already end ( 5 volume ). anyone can spoil the ending for me ? I don't want to wait or waste time on a manga that I don't like the ending.

I just compared the first chapter with the Raw. The translation is pretty accurate, but they take liberty in some pretty strange places:

Like in this instance, I would at least try to preserve the "1mm" thing, and just use "lolicon" instead of translating it to "peodophile"

Or here, where "okonomiyaki", a well-known Japanese dish was translated to "chicken dish" for some reason

Overall, not much meaning was lost as far as I can tell. Maybe they took more liberties in later chapters? Can you post some panels where you think they took too much liberties?

Yeah, I admit I kind of screwed up with translating lolicon into pedophile (The guy said "lolicon bastard" which I decided to translate as derisive as possible. Not to mention he was talking about those "lolicon bastards" as "creepy people lurking in the streets", which is also why I thought "pedophile" was appropriate).

And I definitely screwed up with translating okonomiyaki into "chicken dish" (I saw a grill "yaki" and I automatically assumed "chicken" which was stupid).

Though in the sentence with the guy, he said that he "wasn't even 1 mm interested" in reference to the "lolicon bastards", hence his implication that the loli is comfortable around him. Well, I supposed I could've preserved the "1 mm" in the sentence and put, "and I get that you're comfortable around me, since I don't have even 1 millimeter of interest [in that stuff/being a lolicon]."

Well it seems to be fairly interesting and going in a weird direction. Don't often get characters who even say that asexuality or non-joke homosexuality exists. Interesting MC in that regard.

Y'all need to expand your library if you think this is even close to being considered bad writing.

This is hands down the worst translation I have seen Tree House did that hack-job on Fire Emblem. While I am fond of the source material the translator took way MANY liberties with this. Its like I am reading something someone with a future-burgerflipper-degree like womens studies or Feminist Theory wrote.

Could've at least give some examples so we know you're not just talking out of your ass.

TL is fine and people who complain w/o actual proof like are you that bored in life? Maybe you can learn JPN in the meantime.

Oh boy, here comes those darn SJW feminist tumblr boogeymen.

Check under your beds and empty out your closets, they're coming for your masculinity ooo boogie boogie

Wait so that's really Hot Chocolate Scans taking their liberty in the translation?

I did got a weird SJW feeling out of that but I though "hey, maybe it's just the author personal belief".

As someone who has spent 30+ years telling their family they're not ever having kids/getting married CAN CONFIRM THEY STILL NEVER FUCKING SHUT UP ABOUT IT

Except she doesn't like him

I believe it was a open-ending based on the last chapter.

This is pretty good. An author grumbles about an issue commonly found in contemporary manga, although her own life now basically slowly turning into an illustration of that very issue. So it's giving some sort of story-within-a-story feeling.

The problem though, mc elaborates too much about her stance on the issue.

I agree.

I realized part way through the author is most likely doing this on purpose though. It seems like lately in the world people are so adamant about not having labels pushed on them but then come up with their own labels to refer to themselves. Most of the time it can come out as seriously over analyzing the issue and on both sides of the argument, but it really only comes down to wanting to be treated like a person respecting their own likes and dislikes in life.

I'd like to look at it that way but I could be wrong though.

The problem though, mc elaborates too much about her stance on the issue. Of course some kind of exposure is necessary to show us her personality, but doing so every 5 few pages, each at least 2 pages long of her rambling, would only be too repetitive you could skip pages without missing anything. We've known this side of her already, it's time to move on with the story. This might be expecting too much out of this genre (see? story-within-story just breaks another wall), but I saw that the initial idea and characters could make for something even better and stronger.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... Interesting. Very Very interesting. It isnt everyday you get a manga about an asexual mc trying to figure out love.

This manga speaking the truth

Oh look. Two more inexplicably single high-spec males around.
