Mismarca Koukoku Monogatari

Jess is a way better protagonist than Mahiro. Having a one armed knight with a history with a princess of the enemy army and a burning desire to kill the demon king is far more interesting than a 15 year old perverted kid constantly complaining about violence and who occasionally lying his pants off to screw with someone. 

Current read: chapter 8

Jess turned out to be the best character by far. The emotional outbursts got tiresome but seeing Mahiro be crazy was fun.

Wait? so the 3rd princess is a yandere?

No update about the LN on baka-tsuki. I want to know what happened to him after that event on vol 7. >_>

As the horses inevitably tired, those horses were changed out, again and again. By the time Mahiro’s group’s carriage pulled into view of Mismarca castle, dawn was fast approaching. Beneath the dark sky, below the castle’s walls, rising flames were [already] visible. “N…, no…it can’t be. It’s already…!” As [Sheena] pulled the carriage to a stop, Mahiro leaped out. As if being drawn by some invisible power he took several running steps foward before sudden realization drove him to his knees. He saw the defensive gates were open. Beyond them he saw not the guards he knew so well by name, but a group of faceless, black helmeted knights. Above the gate’s watch tower, in the [char-rank] breeze, he could see the roaring lion of the Imperial Army Flag unfurled. “…!” [The castle] had fallen. So overwhelming was the sight that no one spoke. There was nothing to do but stare as the shape of the burning Kingdom of Mismarca cast its red glow across the midnight blue sky. It was then that “Kaze” marked Mahiro’s groups movements and position exactly, having known that the group would eventually have to come here. Even the black knights assigned watch could not have missed the oddity of the appearance of the lone carriage. “Prince, stand up…!” Pariel pulled on the arm of a dumbfounded Mahiro who was still slump on the ground. She could see a person’s shape moving towards them. “Stand up! We need to escape.” “…escape…, where to…?” Pariel was in tears. “It doesn’t matter where! We’ll escape! We have to escape…! Escape and fight! We have a Seal! You’re the descendant of the Mismarca dynasty! You’re the son of the head of the Alliance! We’ll form a resistance army, or a guerilla force and fight!!” Several figures could be seen making there way unhurried towards them now. “Please…! I beg you, Prince!” Pariel cried as she pleaded, but her resolve wavered and she collapsed against Mahiro’s shoulder and wept. The approaching figures turned out to be four people. The all wore the same thing. A light grey double coat and a beret. Everyone of the four, a face the Mahiro and the rest knew. But with the backlight of the burning city behind them it made it an utterly strange scene. Kaien. Shuraiban. Emilio. And. “Welcome home, your highness.” Mahiro blinked his eyes at the voice. “…Edel…weiss…?” “If it happens to be hard to understand then allow me to explain it to you. First Prince

Mahiro [Yukirusneak] [Eadenfault]. Greetings. I am one of the Imperial Demon Generals, Fuushou (Wind General) Edelweiss.” Speechless. Save the weeping Pariel, the entire party had lost their voices. “And now, a job well done in bringing him back, Pariel. She takes the white Seal from Mahiro’s coat, straitening and turning as a loud racket approaches. The Black Knight Brigade. To the right with naginata in hand, wearing the auspicious uniform of an Imperial Officer, ‘Gouken’. To the left with black sword in hand, the blond ‘Ryoken’. Between them, straddling a monstrous beast of a horse a warrior woman. Before one could blink the Mahiro’s entire group was surrounded. “You were surprised, right, Mahiro? I was also surprised. I thought for sure the Wind General had quit the empire and gone over to Mismarca. The last time I can she apparently hadn’t gotten any orders and remained disguised as a citizen of Mismarca. Weren’t you surprised, Mahiro?” Then she dismounted. “I was asked by father. A last request it seems.” “Father…did…?” With a heavy thump, she threw some thing to the ground and it rolled all the way to Mahiro’s knees. As Parial and Sheena tried to suppress small screams, only Mahiro remained silent as he, with both hands, gently like handling something broken picked it up. Reduced to a mere thing, his father’s head. “…!” Lunas laughed as she spoke to Mahiro. “That day I’m sure I told you, Mahiro. To ‘Become my hushand’. And that I didn’t mean it as a joke. So, I’ve come to get you husband. You’re my ‘war trophy’.” “Ah…, a…, ahh…!” Mahiro. Carrying his father’s head, holding it to his chest. “Aha.” Laughed. “Ha…, ahaha! Ahahaha ahaha! Aha! Ahyahyahyahahahahahahahahahahaha!!” Laughed out loud. Wildly as tears flowed. “Ahahahahaha! Aha, fa, father! This! This…haha, this! Aha! Ahahaha! Ha, ha! Hahahahahahaha!” Pariel shook his shoulder, hard. “P…, Prince…!? Get a grip…! Please keep it together, Prince…! Prince!” “Aha, ha, ha, ha, ha! Look, Pariel! It’s father! Father! And in a voice only Jess could hear he spoke. “…Take Pariel and run. From here on it’s a battle for royalty.” “…!” At the idiot-feigning Mahiro’s quiet whisper, Jesses hair stood on end. Mahiro smiled. Only in that instant, when his eyes held some sense of sanity did he smile. As if to devour a person, with those, those eyes of a snake. Jess was understandably surprised. Rather than surprised, he was terrified. “…” Lighly patting Mahiro, who had once again resumed laughing, on the shoulder, Jess stood up. “We’re going, Pariel.” “But, Jess-k…” At the same time that Parial turned around, Jess landed a blow that knocked her out and pulled her arm over his neck. “Jess…!?” “Sheena, we’re leaving. There’s nothing we can do here.” Mahiro’s brief moment of sanity seemed a lie now as his maniacal laughter continued. As Jess took a step forward, Sayaka and [Reinar] with the Black Knights blocked his way.

Reinar, this is our Princess. Are you coming along?” Only a slight pause. “…I had wondered, but that’s how it is.” He turned around once. “Princess.” “What?” “If you get in the way I will cut everything to pieces.” Looking at Reinar with black sword in hand, Lunasu laughed once though her nose and ordered her men. “Let them go.” “Princess!?” Sayaka spoke up in surprise. “That…, easily! Is that really alright!?” “We’ve already won. We have no need now of [heros], or a princess of a destroyed country. Or do you think you can stop him, Sayaka? That ‘Ryoken’?” “…, That’s…!” “Even should you defeat that, on the other side is the hero who single-handedly saved my older sister from the Great Tsunami, the One Eyed Dragon (dokuganryuu). If he attacks its one thing, but I can’t very well cut down one who has received the medal of the Golden Lion.” Without emotion or inflection, simply with the powerful, newfound resolution behind the blond swordsman’s killing intent, the members of the Black Knight who new his skill well, including Sayaka, slowly made way. “Princess. The miscellaneous goods dealer who was supposed to be closer to him than anyone else had been an enemy. The woman of ice who was more reliable than anyone else had been an enemy. Finally. The father who he should have hated was the only one who had a great last parting gift. The result was an utterly tragic defeat. With hands bound in cuffs and having already lost the white Seal Mahiro was placed in a carriage that set off for Mismarca castle. Mahiro laughed. Clutching the freshly severed head he laughed. Sharing the carriage in order to watching over him to make sure he didn’t run or suicide, was Kaien who murmured with resignation. Whether Mahiro could hear him or not, he muttered. “…It was…an unfortunate situation.” For the boy who had once dreamed of uniting the continent, [it was an utterly empty sentiment]. A Mahiro who suddenly stopped laughing asked. “What was?” So sudden was the question that Kaien’s eyes opened wide in surprise. “…What was…, you ask…” The result was an utterly tragic defeat? “…Hey, hey, did you hear Kaien? Cradling his dead father’s head, while he patted the skull, as blood trickled out to soak his lap, without stopping or tiring Mahiro continued to laugh, and Kaien could only watch and gulp down his own fear. At that moment. The Fallen Angel called the Prophet, shed tears as she rolled about laughing.

Here is where a great hero's story would end in tragedy.

This would be the 'Bad End' for a great legend's story.

But this is the story of a lone, young snake.

Skin his hide, tear his flesh, but the snake won't die.

In the toast of victory, as the lion sips, the poison doesn't die.

 

Mahiro will kill all those bitches and get hi revenge.
