Medieval women had EVERY legal right men did, including every property right and even voting. The Renaissance was the "rebirth" of a culture, Greco-Roman antiquity, where women were legal minors AT BEST—for most of Roman history, they were livestock, legally.
This kind of thing is pretty ludicrous from a country that found out the Earth is round from Francis Xavier (and where women who want bigger busts drink a lot of milk...which isn't cannibal logic, "if you eat his heart you gain his courage", at all). A country that had to make it illegal to look up other people's genealogies NINE YEARS AGO, for fear of discrimination against the descendants of the "eta" caste, doesn't get to set this kind of story in anyone ELSE'S history.
Definitely cute! I love Ishihara Keiko's mangas!
A world that has yet discovered science; a world where religion is at the core of common sense; a world that lives in fear of the unknown. The medieval world is terrible. Nevertheless, it's a good story =) would have loved to see a colored image with his green eyes
