Delving into this manga, it does quantify itself as more that the usual Yaoi. It is quite a pleasure to read.

That's what draws me about this manga and Sangen Tonari no Tooi Hito. They have an existential quality that the majority of BL and non-BL slice-of-life stories lack. Another exception would be Sugano Akira's Mainichi Seiten! saga.
Wah, its a cute little piece! Love how it isn't the stereotypical uke and send situation. But seriously, this was less sexy and more adorable <3
@ gentleman: the gay stereotype is just a stereotype. around 2-3% of the men in this world are supposedly gay, try to guess why you can't seem to pick out that many gays among people you see on the street, at work, in school etc. probably because most of them aren't stereotypical at all, and rather invisible in society. i was once shocked to hear my boss make a gay joke, it's so totally not like him, despite the fact that he is gay. he just doesn't fit the stereotype at all
@Gentleman - I think the stereotypical ones are just more vocal and public about their homosexuality. There are lots of LBGT people who live totally "normal" existences, and can have conversations without shouting out their sexual preferences. I understand what you're getting at, but the issue is that they shouldn't have to act straight in order to be accepted into society. Sometimes I feel like some of my gay friends start acting stereotypical flaming gay in order to be abrasive and to prove that they're not ashamed of being gay. And then there are those who just naturally act really really campy.
If this was the gay stereotype, there would be less friction in society......... but the current stereotype is actually quite accurate.
@Amrai, Thank you so much for the 5th chapter, you have done a great job!! :)
HNNNNNNG
I LOVE THIS. I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. I've read it about 6 times and it's still awesome. It isn't even completed. Miya is cute but handsome at the same time and awwwwwwww.
This probably isn't very coherant, I'm just fangirling here.
Seriously, it's so sweet that I might just die from loving it so much.

I usually don't read much yaoi, but Suzuki Tsuta writes great stories, and Merry Checker is my favourite out of her works so far. The characters are really different from the stereotypical yaoi personalities, and the dynamic between Shio and Miya is amusing and fun. Hope this gets completed soon- there's only one chapter left!
Shio-tan is so deliciously analytical. Gotta love his input and view on life.
I love them together; fun, fun things shall happen soon :))))))))
Prequel to this manga is called The Guy Three Doors Down aka Sangen Tonari no Tooi Hito.
