we do not! ill have you know we have a proud history as banshees and sound nothing like owls!!! the nerve of some people...
Around here most of the native cultures consider owls a bad omen (there's a reason the Mexican saying goes "when the owl hoots, an Indian will die").
When I was a kid I actually did since my great uncle owned a farm and every summer I would go over. I would "sneak" (he knew I always went in there) into the barn and fall asleep in a pile of hay there. I stopped when I got sick from it one year, but one summer a barn owl moved in. After two nights I decided to not go to the barn due to how loud it was
I couldn't sleep near a barn owl, they screech like banshees
