... is what i would like to say but that's an open ending for ya. We're given the privilege from the author to think what's what, so don't take this too seriously
Of course if he was the real deal, that too would be awesome. But we already have that; demon teacher, and also hopeless teacher, hot alien teacher, otaku teacher and yakuza teacher, so why not a chuuni teacher this time? =P

With that hint of burn marks, i'd say yes, you're correct. Nice guy with a bit of chuuni case and badass face plus unusually pointy ear, that's all. He probably clean all the after burn himself by hand cuz he uuh, you know, nice guy?
