Your friendly neighbourhood Wazawahi here.

The next chapter's raws should be out by the end of the week, and I'll be working on them right away.

The chapter won't be out by the time Batoto goes under, however, and I have no plans in place yet for a similar distribution site to upload it to, so for now new chapters will be uploaded to my archive here, linked on my blog here, and shilled on my twitter here.

Chidori is best girl.

Someone needs to tell that girl that being an elementary teacher and a soccer player are far from mutually exclusive. A professional career takes like at most what 10-15 years, so she could start teaching at like 28-33 and do both. Hell her students would probably love having an ex pro athlete teaching them.

But ok give up a professional career for no reason. I'm sure the decision won't haunt her when she's in her forties thinking about what could have been.

(I know it probably won't because this doesn't seem like that kind of story, but in real life it would be a TERRIBLE decision.)

That's the same stupid reasoning most of the girls are applying in this chapter. The point is not that she doesn't think she could be a professional - she doesn't want to. Just because someone is able to fill a profession others can only dream of, doesn't mean he is obliged to do that whether he wants or not.

One of her main characteristics so far has been that she likes kids. That's why she plays with them even when she's supposed to rest. Going pro would probably mean that she would not have the time to do that, that's why she decided against it.

That's one of the most Mary Sue character I've seen in a while mmm...

I would say you're right but I met people like her, a friend from my neighbourhood was the best playmaker I witnessed with youth players, but when playing with friends sometimes he would go to play as a goalkeeper and do some amazing saves, so yeah, it's possible.

Being a perfect human being, is another thing altogether

ps: Isn't just me or that girl look too much like Mai??

ps2: just reread to realize that Jaina and her bunch are only in 2nd year ... and hory shiet, a lot of people say "based" ... a lot.

I always thought that was cause he was a well known player in the highschool football stage, so shuna may have seen one of his games, or something along those lines.

But she says she wanted to talk to him about something; and even didn't want Jaina to know that she was looking for him. I don't think it is a simple as a "Hi, I'm a big fan of yours.", though in the same token I wouldn't be surprised if that's all that it actually is.

After seeing Jaina and Shuna call the new girl 'coach', I hope this will finally be cleared up in this arc. Been wondering about what that was about since it happened. Maybe Shuna sees Kunimitsu like she does the new coach.... or could even be romance-related.

So... opposing team has a charismatic leader that makes the team try harder just for her... but she wants to retire and be a school teacher.  Death flag triggered.

Well, fuck it, she should win.

If you play against a player that is superior to you in any aspect it is really dificult to understand how they do what they do, even more so if you are up close, some things arent more easy to understand up close adding the adrenaline rush of Reika, her anxiousness and the fact that even with her talent she still a novice.

Plus the fact that this is a manga the author has some space for exagerations.

As someone who stepped into the ring once with someone way above my skill level in a fight, I literally thought this dude grew a third arm and punched me in the back of the head because I swear I didn't see either of his hands move.

for a split second, I read the chapter title as "striker's pantsu". I am deeply ashamed.

So true, while it feels like shounen power up stuff it's actually very real that it feels like you have no idea how they do it when you look at someone far more skilled and experienced than you currently are.

Simplest explanation I think is going to watch someone who is truly skilled at digital art. Watch them do a quick 30min demonstration with some skilled use of textures and strokes. You are left with the feeling that you don't really get how he did what he did even though you just watched him do it.

Well, at least it's not as bad as battlefield baseball.

Yeeep, shounen levels of power creep...

It seems like author pulled a fast one here. I mean are we still playing football or crossed into chi/energy/chakra dominion? Because if reika can't understand what happened while watching it from upclose as a victim of dribble and on the side as observer, then please god tell me wut?

New favorite.

"Kijiyama Unions"
Looks like we just met one of Kijinan's starters.

Momofuji a best.

Also, that was an interesting match and I'm really amused the cheating girl is now "friendly" with Reika. Huge tan girl loving kids and letting them win was a really nice way to humanize her after the match and was pretty funny.

Double dose of gyaru, what a lovely way to the day!

a dog, a lion...that was anything but a cavalry battle, more like a circus!

More yuri! You must give me more!!

So, anyway, it's moving to Young Animal Arashi?

If I recall correctly, Young Animal Arashi is the adult erotic-oriented version of Young Animal. It published "Nana to Kaoru: Black Label" for example, which was raunchier than the original series.

So, maybe we won't get two chapters a month, but the author will have more time to make longer chapters and more freedom to skirt the line of hentai (and less censorship).

A win-win?

Honestly, the fan-service in this manga being so light and fluffy does it good and there are few manga that have naked bath scenes and sexy butts everywhere where I don't find it...titillating? It's just like the rest of the manga, just fun and cute and I don't really feel like it's trying to get people to wank off to it or get boners. It's just a very light and nice feeling to it.

If it gets more lewd or he ups the fan-service or makes the fan-service more...exploitative? Fuck, it's hard to think of an appropriate word...crude? Blatant? I think this manga will lose a lot of it's appeal and feeling. The tone will change significantly. Keep the fan-service to a nice aside every now and again with cute girls being fun and cute and then focus on the silliness and faces and hardcore ball action.

A while a go I read the first chapter and it seemed that the couple was gonna be KunimitsuxMai, now that I've finally come to read it I'm seeing comments of ReikaxMai, is the manga really hinting at it or is it just another case of fans shipping characters?

it's just a case of fans reading too much into the character's interactions.

But it's fun, because the straight ship is boring : Kunimitsu is portrayed like an herbivore who won't ever make a move. I mean, what 15 year old would keep it in his pants when surrounded by girls who practically throw themselves at him?

Overall, this is not a manga about romance. This is a manga about a soccer girls team, in the tradition of nekketsu, each with a distinctive personality, with lots of fan service, among which the "yuri" is used, because it's cute. But I don't think it will be conclusive with the romance threads, either straight or gay.

Well, for now I enjoy the ride, because I like how the girls are drawn and the yuri fan service is cute. And the single male MC is not even central to the story.
