My god....I think this might be the first manga that i don't want to look at the characters... I just read the bubbles, then remember the LN, then go and think back to what i pictured to be happening in my head when i was reading the LN... I need to bleach this out of my eyes... and brain.... think i'll go read the LN again.

It's just odd to see it because Tatsuya and Miyuki aren't married to each other no matter how much the latter would like it.  

Mother-in-law? Technically, it is correct in a sense. However, the step-mother works to be a bit more accurate to people. Mother by marriage, in any sense of the word is, still, mother-in-law. Just a translation trip-up of sorts :/

Anyway, linguistics aside. Great story so far, though didn't think they would pick this up before the previous was properly finished translating.

Ouch, okay the art isn't TERRRRRRRRRIBLE, but it's pretty damn jarring when compared with the previous installments of this series. I just finished reading the latest chapter of the Reminiscence arc manga, and Ikawa Waki really did a great job capturing Miyuki's charm. The artist of the first arc, Kitaumi also had an art style that fit Mahouka very well. The Yuutosei spinoff looks very different compared to the above two, but it's nature as a spinoff and the plot of that manga makes the art style work well. However THIS..... my god just look at Miyuki and you'll know what I mean. If the artist can't draw Miyuki of all characters correctly, there's really no point to this lol.

Pretty sure the final page has mistranslation.

Mother-in-law to Tatsuya is only possible if Tatsuya and Miyuki got married with the woman being the mother of Miyuki only.

Step-mother is the more correct translation - Tatsuya and Miyuki's father (blood-related) remarried to a woman who isn't the original biological mother of Tatsuya and Miyuki.

I would not qualify the art of this manga as bad, except in regards to the way that Miyuki is drawn , I do not know what the artist was trying to do by drawing her without nose, one the most beautiful characters looks odd or ugly even; leaving that point aside the rest of the art is decent or at least pasable enough, in my mind this probably looks worse than it really is, because the art of the adaptation of the first arc was way better, using that as a unconscious reference a mediocre art looks becomes awful instead. Still that does not change the fact that the artist shit the bed like a champ by drawing Miyuki that way.

Ugh. Another good LN getting milked like fk. Anime was fine and good, better than what they did to SAO.
I bet you in 6 months or a year at best, this will be milked so bad that the whole series will be forgotten if they keep making it "worse" over time, just like SAO.

Cheap ass quality=cheap production cost. Since it's popular, it'll sell anyway, so yeah, they do want to make money with this.

All the characters who appeared in the previous Mahouka manga versions are horribly drawn but when it comes Naogotsu, his assistant and the chinese there is no problem. I wonder if the artist for this version found it hard to draw characters who he had already seen drawn in different ways?

I'm not excusing the artist for this shit but that is the only explanation I can think of for such a darastic change in quality between characters.

Or the artist could just have had to rush the chapter like crazy and was only able to draw the first 15 pages well. Either way if the art is this crappy it should never have been published. I would be astounded if this ever gets a tankouban release. I can't imagine that enough copies would sell to make any money.
