Lemme see... sex with no memory of the event but the signs still on my body? That would be little more than the horror of date rape, waking up the next day and wondering wtf happened why I feel so irritated and the probability of an a very unpleasant surprise when my period is late.
So yeah, I'd rather the relatively harmless dream of someone I'm crushing on that I'll remember than the unpleasant aftermath of something I don't with that same person I'd previous held in high enough esteem to want to sleep with. Gods what a nightmare.
I guess for the moment you're doing it, it would be better, but if you had no memory of it afterwards, it's like never having done it at all. It's not like your penis or vagina has some sort of activity gauge on it where doing it but having no memory would be beneficial to you in any way. Well, I guess a hymen would sorta work, as already mentioned in the manga, but that information by itself wouldn't really tell you a whole lot unless you made a habit of checking it every morning with that hypothetical question in mind.
A memory of a real event and the memory of a dream are the same information, so having a realistic "dream" of doing it with someone would likely be more "complete" for the individual making the wish. Especially if the "dream" sex is every bit as realistic as the real thing and the full memory is retained unlike the memory of a dream which is stored in short term memory but rarely makes the transition to long term memory.

What was cruel in this? They both chose whatever they wanted...and got that. The choices weren't good, but it wasn't what you would call cruel.
