The premise is nothing new, but the art is great, and it has just enough style and emotion to make it work. The kid's powers coming from his own imagination is a great touch. Would like it if this one was turned into a series.
"He hasn't opened up yet" refers to how he's still closed off and acting anti-social, since he's only recently arrived at the town and joined the class.
A girl who isn't actually 12 years old, she's the alter-ego of Kirihara.
Notice what she's thinking on pages 10 & 11.

I like this one quit a lot, I hope there will be a longer story with å similar style.

Honestly, what stuck out the most to me were the t-shirts the Kirihara and that girl were wearing, they seemed to switch from English to Japanese between pages. Also, what kind of 12 year old girl wears a shirt that says "fuck swag"?

i actually really enjoyed this one. Was a bit sad that his magic was turning into a super hero, would be nice if it gets serialized and his magic power becomes a bit more special :-)
