Not to mention if damascus syria existed in this world ....
or just google damascus steel or something but then again this world has cat ears people so real world damascus might be different from theirs
Well, I found the novels on Amazon.jp (I think. Can't read Japanese). They aren't expensive at all, so I wouldn't mind donating them for translation... But where could I find people willing to translate 6 volumes worth or pages?
with his special "metal bar" of course
All I can think while reading the latest arc : Daammit Robert how do you get Irine to marry you!!!!
"That girl loves metal from the bottom of her heart"
Smithing in general is an awful procedure.
Prior to the industrial age, smithing pretty much boiled down to one thing, "higher temperature = better outcome". The unspoken part being, "higher temperature = more taxing/dangerous for the blacksmith".
maybe, but my theory is i think:
I intentionally am not reading ahead. So this is just a wild guess as to what may be Irine's issue, that... (if I'm right this is one big spoiler...)
Ch 12
Urgh...the plot thickens and gets more cloudy and complicated (in a good sense, of course).
I wonder what is going on here? Hmmmmmmm.
Well, thanks for the release!
Edit: By the way ... I really like the current manga volume cover that is representing this series above!
Agreed.
While this was another excellent chapter for me in some ways I wonder if my singing its praises is "fair" for those unfamiliar with the series? I happen to ADORE content, settings and stories like this (similar very general examples being Spice and Wolf, Akatsuki no Yona, Kemono no Souja Erin, Saiunkoku Monogatari, etc., etc.) so I am an easy sell.
Not everyone enjoys such things, though, and especially material so...specific and unfamiliar to many - 12th century metallurgy, kemonomimi and alchemy? Really? lol
Even so...I think it is downright fantastic stuff.
Thanks again so much for the release!
What a strange story arc.
I know the story is (painfully) slow by design, but it doesn't have the same charm Spice and Wolf had during the long lulls.
Consider me already pre-emptively suspicious of every character who ever appears in this manga.
But yes, it is nice to have now two in rapid succession! Thank you kindly!
Touma Punch.
I expect him to punch her...
Welp...
Gender equality punch denied...
Maybe...
Edit: Oh look, miracles happen
I'm assuming this means this will be updated more in the near future, then?
We didn't have a dedicated cleaner and the previous typesetter had other commitments. And now we have both positions staffed. Oh, and the translator finally got good enough over time to now write scripts that actually make a bit of sense... (he still sucks though)
Okay, consider me already suspicious of the "representative of the backsmith guild" here.
That aside, it is so nice to have another chapter of the manga!
Yeah it's published in Young Ace, which is a seinen magazine.
