She didn't treasure her virginty, body,mindset,etc. And she didn't even treasure the guy she seems to like, wanting to force him into sex just after meeting him.

When the heck did cherishing someone become equal with "mating"?

 

Honestly, I don't understand how someone could even use the word "treasure" here unless it was sarcasm. On the contrary, if you want to mate first you show that you DON"T treasure them, you just want some self-satisfaction. This is why war and hate spread, even the smallest units of people have forgotten about the grace of charity, instead they indulge into absolute hedonism, and on top of that they call it "romance". People need to relearn how to love themselves more before they can love others. Cherishing is a nice thing, but it sure didn't happen in this story

  This is such a weird thought process!  If you don't cherish your virginity, you don't cherish yourself?  If you sleep with someone on the first date, you don't care about them?  Also the use of the word "Mating" is hilarious and awkward.  She's having sex with people.

 People have all sorts of different views about sex, it doesn't mean anything about their self-worth.  I don't like to have it until I'm more settled into a relationship, but that doesn't make me any better than people who have sex on the first date, or worse than people who wait until marraige. It doesn't mean I like myself more or less, that I take better or worse care of my body and health, or care more or less about my mental health.  It just means that's what I'm personally comfortable with.

 The main character was seeking only physical relationships because she was hurt by a previous relationship, and didn't want to be caught up in those same strings again.  Then she met someone she was interested in, who surprised and intrigued her, and decided she wanted to take a chance on having a relationship again.

Packaging this story in bizarre notions about self-respect, or whoreing, or "treasuring her body", makes me think you might be on the younger side- that is, it seems like you haven't met or talked to a lot of people with different views than yours, nor had a lot of relationship experience that would help you to understand what it's like to be afraid of entering a new one, after a bad relationship or break-up.

While the summary did turn me off abit, I decided to give it a try anyway. And even though these kinds of stories aren't my thing simply because of the premise, I thought it was still fairly well done.
