RIP manga and anime.... cliff hanger ends.

o well... another promo for Novel again I guess...

Was originally 8/10, but now 7/10 for that. (4 star for here, now 3 star)

10 volumes for a promo manga is really good in my book.
But yeah, still sucks...

fyi : ma=magic dan=bullet no=of ou=king to=and

So basically ended off the same as the Anime more or less. It's too bad we saw nothing new or spectacular that anime viewers haven't already seen. Time to pick up the novel now I guess.

What part of the LN did the manga ended at? I must continue reading it!

The manga and the anime cover the first 5 volumes of the LN, that describe the Brune Civil War.

The story continues in two other major arcs, which are divided in different smaller arcs, until the current volume 16. More details here (warning! the title of each arc contains spoilers) :

Spoiler

I know this was only a promotional manga, but damn that is a crap ending.

You guys should realize that all LN manga adaptations are just advertisements to sell more LN books. You're literally reading a sample for the real thing which is the LN or whatever source material there is.

So this whole manga was just and ad for the LN? Talk about advertisement, god damn!

ended? ok, next.

This sucks. It's why getting into any adaptation of LNs is a waste of time. Chances are you're going to find out how it ends by reading some summary online somewhere years later if you even care that much.

I kinda wanted this to last as long as the LN.

Competent shounen MC's are worth their weight in gold, granted he still had the stuttering and blushing problem, but at least he held his own as a combatant.

What do you mean?

You have several manga series that are a promotion of the anime. the thing is most anime series these days arent original and so having a manga that is promoting a anime that in turn is a adaptation of a manga would be ...  completely missing the point.

A few manga series end up having a Light Novel as a promotion, I know Black Clover got one apparently, Anime series sometime get one but since few are originals these days.

Light Novels arent "prioritized" in any sense, only Anime just declined to the point its so risk adverse few series are original series and the large majority are adaptions, manga is mostly a visual media and as such simply arent easy to be adapted to a strictly written format as the reverse is easier.

LNs are prioritized in the sense that anime adaptations are usually only one or two seasons long, and manga adaptations usually cover roughly the same amount. Meanwhile you can easily have a LN going beyond a dozen volumes with no end in sight, while anime/manga adaptations typically only adapt a very small portion. And then they just troll you with "lol go buy the LN to find out what happens next!". And LNs dont get translated the way anime/manga does.

Its honestly quite annoying, and i think the trend has made increasing amounts of people roll their eyes and not bother with "LN advertisement" adaptations.

There was a time where anime studios would adapt much larger amounts of a series, but that time is long past it seems. Now, even very famous and popular series like Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon that sell extremely well get two seasons max while generic moe garbage like love live or whatever the latest idol fad is runs forever.

IIRC in the past, anime adaptations were mostly from manga, not LNs. So even if an anime only covered one or two seasons, people could read the manga to continue where the anime left off, but when both the anime/manga adaptations are just short ads for a LN which never gets translated because "ceebs", people are left hanging.

It doesnt seem hard at all to get a long LN series running either, all you need is a decent artist to draw some hot girls on the cover and a generic outline. Hell, even a computer program managed to win a LN writing competition just by writing from a list of tropes. Japanese LN editors famously allow almost all kinds of garbage to get printed, anime studios are probably a lot more selective. I cant remember if its anime studios that approach rights holders to make an adaptation, or rights holders paying a studio to make an adaptation though.

Hmmmm. Kinda smells like AX ... but not the body spray. Never read the LN but that ending ... I guess ... let's leave everything open like in real life LOL.

Even if this did get the axe, it went on about 30 more chapters than most LN adaptations

I wish this was continuing because the Greast arc would have happened soon. That one was so dark.

Soon? The Greast arc is far away dude.

War. War never changes.

True but the body count just keeps going up never down.

I wouldn't have expected an advertisement for the light novel to go 51 monthly chapters. I guess it was selling well for a while, but the numbers dropped off and they decided to just can it after the arc?

Why is it that LN are prioritized so much over anime/manga?

Probably because its cheaper to produce.

I dropped this midway. Could someone summarize the manga and what happens in the end?

An enjoyable run, and in the end I can honestly say that I liked the manga adaptation better. Thank you, Fallen Angels, for allowing us to read it until the end.

Also, kudos to Thenardier. Despite being defeated, he still defended his choice to attack Alsace as the (coldly and ruthlessly) pragmatic thing to do. And in hindsight, he was 100% right: Ganelon was conspiring to take all the power from him and Alsace did become the open door for Zhcted's intervention in Brune's civil war.

A pity we won't see more. Oh, well, at least the arc Vanadis is famous for was covered.

Wow, so they end it at the same point as the anime instead of allowing it to continue like the light novel. Greeeeaaaat.
