Wow, a lot happened in Chapter 22. That gunshot scene reminded me of Golden Days a bit. XD.

In chapter 37 (I'm reading volume 8 now), it says that Neelam's name means "Sapphire" in English. So it looks like that's pretty definite conformation on the spelling. And I did find a man with the name "Neelam": a former president of India, Neelam Sanjiva Reddy. He was born in 1913. Interestingly, his wife was also named Neelam.
Also, Movic is selling Madam Petit merchandise if anyone is interested. I got the postcard sets for both Madam Petit and Golden Days.
