Description: Three years ago, Katsumi Yu headed to Africa for a volunteer project as a doctor. However, soon after, a civil war erupted and he was captured by a guerilla group who was desperate for a doctor to treat the injured. He kept doing what he came to do, help people in need, and he does this for several years. But with the regime change in the country, the guerilla group was hunted down and Yu was forced into a situation of kill or be killed. He quits being a doctor soon thereafter and gets a tattoo of Lucifer on his right arm as a reminder of his past crimes.

Although Yu returns to Japan, he spends his days drinking. After a night of drunken brawls, he wakes up in a clinic run by Dr. Minatono. This shady looking clinic takes in all patients, even those without insurance or can't even pay but still maintains state of the art equipments. It turns out Dr. Minatono deals with clients, such as the mob, who are unable to go to regular hospitals due to legal reasons and in exchange receives exorbitant amounts of money to help keep the clinic up and running. At first, Yu rejects the job offer from Dr Minatono, but situations keep coming up that keep him busy in the surgery room.

Well. Its a change of pace from all the recent web novels turned mangas.

Though Monster never really was much of a medical manga. By the way...I read that Guillermo del Toro wants to make a series out of Monster: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2015-10-24/guillermo-del-toro-live-action-monster-is-out-of-hbo/.94409

Regarding this manga I hope it won't get as dark as "Girl may kill".

If you don't mind some over the top stuff, then Team Medical Dragon is pretty sweet.

medical mangas never fail to grab my attention. im getting a urasawa's monster sort of vibe and im all for that, you know

Glad to see more updates thanks guys.

Man, I wish there was more.

That whole "Out Cold~" writing on the last page of chapter 4 made me laugh for some reason. >_<

yumm but soo short

oh just when you think it can't get any worse...

We're working on it! We're really short on staff so we're a little slow ^^"

hey atleast you didnt take 3 years like some other scanlators i know

Manga is 6 tomes long and french people (in France, dunno about Canada) can get the tomes for 7€-ish.

This serie is awesome: great artwork (imo), dark scenario and OP surgeon.

Spoiler

Oh, another Black Jack... nice!

The relationship network is rather dense.

I mean, the guy who stabbed the MC get saved by him later, but it turns out he killed the son, of the yakuza boy who was ready to donate his kidney to his father, who turns out to be the patient of another operation.

In 3 chapter.

11/10 manga, so perfect

Woo an update. Thanks!

Thanks for the update.

Some one updates this!!!

I have to agree.

I don't think it's going that far though.

Maybe the author thought about have Yuu Going against the way of the normal doctors. Thus Lucifer the fallen angel. But i don't think it has a bigger meaning.

I doubt the author went that far Lucifer is simply a fallen angel and MC considers himself a fallen doctor.

yeah I Agree.. Lucifer is fallen angel, MC is Fallen Doctor... Case Closed..

no further meaning required....

mhmmm..... i want more

Woo, more medical stuff.

You know, considering Lucifer means 'Lightbringer', it's hardly an inappropriate motif for a doctor. Blaspheme against God by saving those who were supposed to die in His plan? Man, that makes me sound like some religious nut.

Is that actually a thing? There are people who believe that there is an omniscient and omnipotent God, but that he somehow forgot to account for doctors in his grand scheme thingy?

But yeah, by literal name-meaning it's a pretty good name choice for an NGO charity doctor. Well, that particular translation anyway; as "The Morning Star" (i.e. the planet Venus, which is most noticeable at dawn and dusk) it doesn't make as much sense. Unless you want to get into somewhat involved metaphors. It's clear that the author may be sophisticated enough to have thought about it more than "He has the devil on his arm because he has a dark past and that's cool sauce". On the other hand, it's also clear that the author likes melodrama enough that it might still just be that...

starts out very interesting!

Excited to read more :)
