I found this, it's pretty obviously upscaled, but it's better than nothing.

Spoiler

I forgot to add commentary to the end of the special comic, whoops!

This comic isn't actually part of the main Log Horizon manga series, but it's by the same illustrator (who also does the light novels). It was one of five shorts released in a special booklet that was given out back in 2014 as a reward to people who mailed in proofs of purchase that they bought all of the currently-released novels. Four of the five were by the artists of the four Log Horizon manga series (Kanami, Go East wasn't created yet), and the last was a short story written by Mamare about one of the Tea Party's offline meetings.

The rights to the shorts were recently given back to their artists (and author), so both Hara and Mamare released theirs.

Also, Akatsuki in her frilly swimsuit was used in a Log Horizon x Maoyuu collaboration image. I haven't been able to find a good version of the full image, but I have Akatsuki's side.

Spoiler

Dammit Henrietta, think about yourself for a bit and find something that'll knock Shiroe's socks off.

It lives! :D

Thanks for the release Ihff.

hmmm... gotta say when you consider the anime is already out, seems paced a lot better, and seemingly goes more in depth with character development, i really cant see a reason to even bother following this.

it's not bad, but when the same story animated(very well i might add) and in an overall better way.... it's hard to get into the manga version. highly recommend hitting the anime instead if you have to choose one(tho the manga seems to offer a bit more info on certain parts..... but really the place to go to that would be the light novels on baka tsuki since they go far further into that detail.)

If anything it's more that the anime comes out so slowly. But you're better off reading the light novels, which the anime is quite faithful to. It is kind of a slow series overall imo from what I've read. I do hope there is more of a payoff in the anime, I hate to admit it but I got bored of reading the light novels.

Just a heads up for people who may read the light novels you may want to either: A. Rid them while they are up because Yen Press plans on releasing the novels in English and Baka-Tsuki takes down the novels after the first english novel is release or B. Wait for the novels to come out and buy them and show your support for this series.

Since only two more volumes are available (6 & 7), I guess we’ll only get a 12-episode show.

Volume 8 is coming out soon and web version of volume 9 is most likely to follow. There will be enough for a full 24/25/26 episode cour. Mamare-sensei is pretty on point when it comes to writing, there's no doubt in my mind that the anime will use whatever web chapters available if there if isn't anything published in book form yet.

is that the girl who shiroe keeps on remembering in the anime? the one who showed him how fun it is being in a party?

The next LN volume (Vol. 6, “Yoake no Mayoigo”) focuses on Akatsuki and the girls. Shiroe doesn’t have any real appearances. It’s available on Baka-Tsuki.

why cant people see stuff with a similar backdrop as its own thing calling everything a clone thats one of the reasons we dont have enough good games

this isnt a sao or .hack// clone but its own thing

sorry for complaining but i had to say it eventually

...

1st season anime has ended ...

2nd season release confirmed at this 2014 Fall ...

hmm, another girl for Shiro... =3= ... (yandere fox girl ?)

I wonder if this manga will reach that part ...

(this might tagged as harem when it reach that part)

I didn't even think of Digimon, but yeah I can see the comparison. But it really is like a mix of SAO and .hack though, with some very unique spins on things like the cooking and the NPCs gaining a will of their own. A separate dimension does seem highly plausable, but the game mechanics remaining is very strange, as well as the fact the people of the land not knowing about regular cooking until the adventurers discovered it. I'm really curious to see what's going on.

Also, they realized in SAO not to use commands for skills as well, you seem to be forgetting that. Things like cooking in SAO were already pretty much close to the way it is in real life anyway. Perhaps before trying to bold and underline half your comment like a maniac, you should go re-read the novels again.

SAO, Yureka, 1/2 Prince, Log Horizon, Real Account, World Customize Creator, .hack, Accel World,  ---> they all have the same concept but they are exemplary in their own way so don't go saying one copied whom because they all started from Computers and MMORPGs

is this the last chapter of this series?

I still do want it translated though... I read the light novel and watch the anime but yea... still want this manga not dropped along with the other two :D

Log Horizon is completely different as they had been teleported to a completely different dimension where everyone just happens to have their game characters and a game menu.

I don't think it's a completely different dimension, unless there was some insane pararel universe there

Spoiler

Good novel and anime - stop comparing to SAO... they have different focus.

I honestly don't know why people compare this to SAO. I understand if the only thing you read is the synopsis, but if you actually read the thing you'll see that this has more in common with Digimon than anything else. For example, the manga makes pretty clear they are not playing a game like in SAO, they literally become "spirited away" into another world, like in Digimon. Honestly, the only thing LH has in common with SAO is the MMORPG element, but even then it's only in the beginning since they soon discover that it's better to not use commands at all, essentially making the LH world another Digiworld.

but the fundamental difference is that SAO was in a VR world where it was possible to get out of, albeit a bit 'hard' but Log Horizon is completely different as they had been teleported to a completely different dimension where everyone just happens to have their game characters and a game menu.

Reading the light novel.. second part of vol3 gives me Alicization vibes..

If I have to compare it with SAO..

SAO is a story about 'heroes'

Log Horizon is a story about a 'world'

to me, it's more like

SAO is about 1 guy in a 'new world'

Log Horizon is about a group of people centered around 1 guy in a 'new world'

I love this series as well, but why would you want it violated by dubs?

I love love love the anime.

<3 <3 <3

I'm completely smitten.

I have my fingers crossed for a dvd set release with professional subs and/or english voice acting.

I personally find Log Horizon a bit more Everquest/II-ish.  But that is, perhaps, just me.

It seemed like the anime showed there were a lot more sub-specializations, but I can't read moonrunes. Could anyone confirm?
