Well...friendship...and training together so that you know each other's moves and how to coordinate properly on the battlefield w/o harming each other or getting in each other's ways...
Ridiculously late reply, since I haven't been on here in a long time, but the first part is technically wrong. EXP Pots are not character bound, and thus can be sold/traded. If it were character-bound, it cannot be transferred or sold in any way.
Its the same with Exp pot, which are character bound. They cant be traded with the use of the system function but can be sold personally.
The Phantasmal sword cant be equiped by anyone else other than Souji. Therefore other people can still use it as long as they dont equip it through the system (coz of the nature of Elder Tale now)
Agreed. This is quite a good read in retrospect. And the Honey Moon Logs spin-off focuses on the Crescent Moon Alliance just in case you don't read it. However, it is non-canon and a bit lacking compared to the original. It certainly adds to the NaotsuguXMarielle, but I feel the slower progression in the original works better for me.
I love this Side Story, It gives so much more charater to the West Wind Brigade than the main story ever can. I hope that other main guilds will also get similar stories.
You see the spirit thing/AI come out when Isami grabs the sword. That's the Phantasmal one. And I think it was Sandy who grabbed it and threw it, which also poses a problem since she technically shouldn't have been able to touch it, either. I guess holding it is fine, but that still poses the question of why Isami was able to use it.
Isn't Soujiro usually carrying two swords, though? Soujiro's build can be used with two swords as well, so it wouldn't seem strange if he got another sword at hand that he could throw (that is either another, though unlikely, Phantasmal-class weapon that's obviously character-bound, some artifact-class weapon that is likely to be character-bound as well or some fancy high grade production weapon - made out of Phantasmal-class material or other high grade stuff - that isn't necessarily character-bound), right? It's certainly weird if he actually threw his divine sword for her to use, though.
I guess it's possible for others to touch and transport other people's phantasmal-class equipment - otherwise repairing that stuff, something that requires the right subclass and phantasmal materials in the first place, would be quite the core - while actually storing it in the inventory or equiping it is another issue, entirely.
WWB was licensed by Yen Press. Their official title is "People of the West Wind," which honestly sounds terribad to me.
[Edit]: Just kidding, they lied. It's the main manga series they licensed.
lol I'll put the page right here:
I went through the chapter several times, and I didn't notice her until now...
Did anyone else notice Kawara chasing a butterfly in the background?
And so it came that once again, friendship had saved the world!
It still does actually. It goes into detail in the LH, but all the rules still apply. This includes for creating weapons and technology that don't exist in the game proper.
Volume 7 is being translated from Japanese to English very slowly, with barely any progress. skythewood is waiting for the Chinese release of Vol 7 to begin translating it proper (since skythewood did the translations of vol 1 to 6 using the Chinese releases of LogHora, not the Japanese version). If you REALLY want to know what happens in volume 7 you can go to the pastebin here (from Chinese to English once again) and start reading from web chapter 55. Volume 8 is going to be released very soon and Volume 9's web materials should be popping up after wards.
Soujiro is quite an annoying guy
Considering that just about every other MMO rule is still in play at this point in the story (two-handed weapons must be held with two-hands, one-handed weapons can only be held with one hand, you can't make food without the proper subclass, you can't use an equip without the proper requirements, etc), I think it still does.
Not really that surprising, you see that a lot in MMOs.
"Kite adds over there so the rest of us can handle the boss! NO, WAIT, WHY ARE YOU TRAINING THEM ON US!? READ THE CHAT, READ THE CHAT!"
And then an hour-long raid gets wiped.
Bound equipment doesn't matter really now that it's not a game.
The thing that bugs me the most about the latest chapter is that Isami shouldn't even be able to touch Souji's sword, since it's Phantasmal and thus is instantly character-bound to him.
And also, the guy that attacks Isami is all like, "I'll kill her if you don't let my buddies repair the traps" (so WWB can use it to their advantage again???), then just goes and lets Sandy heal Isami. So much for that.
Soujiro's voice in the anime annoys me
Volume 8's not out in Chinese, can't translate it. There are summaries on AnimeSuki if you dig.
For convenience:
I see a few translated web novel chapters in BT for v7 but not v8.
Its been a while since I read the LN and I haven't watched the anime, but when/where was that stated?
It has. It's just in web novel form rather than volume form, since the translator for it goes JP > CH > EN, and volume 7 is releasing in Taiwan late July (~25th). Volume 8's web novel version is complete, and the published version is being worked on.
Whoa you reminded me. The LN translation is not even progressing
There's gonna be quite a number of second-season anime this Fall.. Prepare to be tired of them o_O
(At least 6 omfg)
I feel that the whole shocking reaction mostly came from the revelation that magus was a big yandere. That was a curveball I was not expecting at all.
She might be a female player with a male avatar. Like Akatsuki, before she used the potion.
