| Description: | Roots of A is essentially a manga short featuring Akiyama during his senior year of college. In it, Akiyama and four of his classmates are taking a criminal psychology course and given an assignment where they must construct a profile of a person based on a letter they sent. This outcome of the assignment, plus what the professor says afterwards, is what prompts Akiyama to enter grad-school and continue to study psychology. These one shots were a really nice read, enjoyed all of them. It'll be nice if we had a bit more insight of Akiyama's past, since the two chapters left me wanting more. The others had a different vibe from the main story which was refreshing. Overall, enjoyed them and want more.
While the one-shots were interesting, if you are only interested in reading about Akiyama from Liar Game; stop reading after chapter one.
I'm not quite sure why the one-shots are here, but that might be because of how everything was published or something. I think the one-shots should have been put in their own 'manga' section though, instead of here. It's confusing.
Either way, Kaitani is an interesting mangaka. I adore their works.
