Description: As a child, Mamiya Sakura mysteriously disappeared in the woods behind her grandma's home. She returned whole and healthy, but since then, she has had the power to see ghosts. Now a teenager, she just wishes the ghosts would leave her alone! At school, the desk next to Sakura's has been empty since the start of the school year. Then one day her always-absent classmate Rokudo Rinne shows up, and he's far more than what he seems! After school one day, Rinne helps Sakura deal with the ghost of a boy who has a crush on her. Rinne, it seems, knows just how to handle such ghosts, and has the skills and tools to properly dispatch them to the afterlife (for a small fee of course). Sakura starts to learn more about her mysterious classmate, and her curiosity about Rinne draws her deeper into the amazing world between life and death.

There are new chapters translated but the translator had it all on her tumblr. She never heard of batoto. I gave her the suggestion and she'll try it out. her tumblr is idiana204.tumblr.com

There you go. Thank you, idiana

It's 2017 now, why there isn't any new chapters? (it's just a question, I'm not trying to bug anyone).

SHE, Rumiko Takahashi is a woman. Also she is know for having only female assistants.

BTW is there any hope in having earlier chapters translated?

Really now, this is the first time i've ever seen someone confuse Rumiko-sensei with a man. Rumiko is a very feminine name, there's close to no room for doubt

i actually like rinne better than inuyasha and ranma. I think it's the chill heroine lol. and i can relate to Rokudo's poverty so well haha

well that was stupid

Cover 28!!

read earlier chapters here... http://www.mangapanda.com/kyoukai-no-rinne

 eh

Not like you to be meh on something, Catbug.

Viz used to do this really cool thing: they translated and hosted all the chapters online. For free. And the releases kept up with the Japanese releases.

But then a huge earthquake happened in Japan and... no more online English chapters came. Roselia scans took over at chapter 90 and have been (slowly) releasing ever since.

So to answer your question... there are no scanlation versions of the first 89 chapters because no-one needed to scan them. They used to be available for free! However, there are webrips online if you look hard enough... (Batoto doesn't host official scans).

Yeah he truly loves making manga, unlike Togashi who takes years off for really no good reason.

To all whiners out there, Rumiko Takahashi-sensei created more mangas than Inuyasha (well, it was interesting for some time) and Ranma 1/2 (liked anime more). There is Mermaid Forest (there is nice anime adaptation), Urusei Yatsura (think about what would Gintama ancestor would look like, it has most of comedy ideas used nowadays), Maison Ikkoku (didn't watch or read it but sounds nice). Name at least one other mangaka who created so many GREAT mangas which were made into long going anime. I have to admit that her latest works are worse than earlier but they are still nice.

Inuyasha and Ranma 1/2 were good, but Urusei Yatsura is Legendary, and was a pioneer who made the way for many other good things.

Exactly.  I think that one manga has had more effect on the subsequent writing of manga than any other, with the exception of the works of Tezuka Osamu Sensei.  If Tezuka was the manga equivalent of the Beatles on the rock scene, Takahashi-Sensei's Urusei Yatsura was the equivalent of ABBA on the pop scene.  Any of the four mentioned here, you can like them or hate them, but the influence is unquestionable.

Note - In my nsho, if you don't love Urusei Yatsura, you have NO sense of humor.

Alright.  Now all Takahashi haters can excoriate me to their heart's content.  Please make it readable.

Yay this is being updated quicker, thanks Roselia.

We're on a weekly release schedule now.

Reading all of this I learned one thing ash guy does crap

I know that some of the past commentaries are kinda old, so the person who initially asked may not see this but as some others have already answered this manga is ok, decent or as I usually say it's worthy way to spend some free time, it is certainly not the author's finest work but is not awful at least to me, now if you want to read another work of this author that may not be as famous as Inuyasha or Ranma you could read Mermaid Saga, it is kinda short, interesting, a little bit darker than the rest of her work but not too much and to me that one is manga that I would gladly reread again some day if I can finish my monstrous "to-read" list of mangas.

PD

Someone mentioned the effect that the flow of time has in authors that have created some great and successful mangas in the past and while I kinda agree that that also seems to apply to Takahashi I don't think that her decline is as sharp (Inuyasha ended less than a decade ago, seven years if I'm not wrong) as that of the authors of other classic mangas from the 80's, Tetsuo Hara, Buronson, Kurumada and Toriyama are still active this days but most of the stuff they have released since their heyday has been mediocre at best.

Well, I actually do like Rinne.

Sure, it's not Inuyasha or Ranma but it's fun to read. Thanks alot for translating this Roselia Scanlations xD

Is this any good? Read ranma and inuyasha

You'll do better reading Urusei Yatsura. Tthis is without doubt the most boring and dullest work of Takahashi.

Is this any good? Read ranma and inuyasha

I loved ranma and decently liked inuyasha. rinne is very... normal. Kinda like proof that even a legendary mangaka like takahashi rumiko can't beat age...

But if u read it without knowing this is made by her then you might like it. By all means rinne isn't a bad manga, its just that its bad compared to stuff like ranma, maison ikkoku and urusei yatsura

It's not epic, but I don't think the mangaka meant it to be.  It's meant to be a fun read and that's exactly how I find it.  Thanks, Roselia, for translating it.
