Not sure if I would have liked a sequel or not. It was a good read either way.

I doubt very much that George Lucas would borrow anything from a japanese manga.

You mean besides the fact that the Jedi are nothing more than stylized samurai who wield the Force instead of the life energy known as ki, that their name comes from jidai-geki, the period dramas that Lucas was a fan of, and that Vader gets his helmet and famous "Darth" prefix from feudal lord Date Masamune, and that when Queen Amidala changes dresses in every scene of The Phantom Menace she's doing oiro-naoshi, a ceremonial changing of kimonos done at a Japanese wedding. Not to mention that the lightsabers, are based on the katana and wakizashi, Yoda is the stereotypical asian elder master, Kenobi's brown robes seem very similar to robes worn by Buddhist monks, etc.
Yeah, there's no way George Lucas would "borrow" anything of those "inferior" Japanese, right?

I am a fan of Go Nagai works and though I was hesitant with this one, this story blew my socks off. The action, the pacing, it's all really great. And at first, I sort of laughed at Go Sensei's smug assertion that Stars Wars had borrowed from him but after reading this, I have to agree there are definitely parallels that could be drawn. But hey, whether it's true or not doesn't matter, this sort of thing happens all the time especially when your works tend to craft genre. I strongly disagree with the description for this manga though. If there really were no reason for the lasers/tech stuff whatever that would still be fine but there is definitely reason for it if you read it. Anyways, good stuff, can't wait to read the rest.
