This was a satisfying ending. Although I wished they had shown Haruka and Shinichi together more in the last chapter. The part where they kept hiding Haruka's face was a bit annoying as well.

Very annoying. Although I think the mangaka did that to build suspense for the reveal that Haruka is incredibly beautiful as a grown up. It felt more like that rather than what someone else suggested where the author was trying to make it seem like someone else had married Shinichi (he was woken up by a girl identical to Haruka and then he almost called her "Haru--" as well). Unfortunately, I think the final reveal of Haruka's grown up face was kind of underwhelming and possibly could've been drawn better and with more emotion.

That's so sad. You have my heartfelt sympathy. Anyway I hope you can still live your life with this hatred and this ending. Don't let it get to you. Stay strong.

Though I have to say that on my part I'm quite satisfied to get some nice lukewarm conclusion to this story.

I always disliked those lazy authors who left the conclusion to the reader's imagination because they've driven themselves into a corner and being unsure on how to finish their own story.

PS:

Thank you for sharing your insightful thoughts with us low commoners. Our lives will probably be richer with those words.

I stopped being emotionally involved in this manga long ago so it doesn't bother me but i'm glad I could help enrich your life with my words.

I feel for Sugita. My wife's family basically pulled a similar stunt on me; I'd planned on a nice, quiet, PRIVATE proposal, once we were all done with Xmas eve with the whole damn family, and all of her kids snug in bed, on threat of being bypassed by Santa. Yeah… not so much. Finally found out they weren't going to let us leave until after I proposed. In front of the whole bunch. Kinda how they do everything. I swear I'm going to have to design brochures on things like "Doors: How they work, and what they're for".

I hate these overly nice conclusive endings. We know they have a child and stuff, we don't need to see it. It's just dumb fanservice, "here is her as an adult, here is their child, nothing has changed isn't that nice." yea sod off, it's so cliche. It should end when they get together, at most end it at their wedding. Leave something to the imagination instead of leaving the characters with the most mundane

We rarely ever get the wedding, actually. The only one I can name that actually gave us that was Love Hina. Most stories just leave it up in the air that they will have a happily ever after, or fast forward to married life.

Also, I'd much prefer that kind of fanservice over the much more rampant ero-fanservice that is in many manga and anime nowadays. (panty shots, trip into breasts, etc.)

really nice read. makes you wonder though. i've been noticing more and more of these sort of stories nowadays. middle aged guy meets girl who's barely in her teens and takes care of her. then ends up with her in the end. most of them are good reads too. what, is there a conspiracy to turn normal men into pedos or something? anyways thx for the translation.

I honestly don't see how the character's lives could be any different unless a good friend like Truck-kun comes along or the police come rolling by.

It took sooooo long but dear god its finally finished. What a ride. Thx to all the groups who put in all the hard work. It was a great read.

And I'm a fan.  Hurrah!

Damn, I want more than this ending...

Thanks for giving us some closure, sj4iy.

Right? I mean we knew what she looked like as an adult. I think the author was trying to pull a "It might not be her" thing, but it clearly was and even after it was definite you knew it was her, her face was still hidden a bit for some reason.

You are the man (woman?), sj4iy! Thank you for finishing this, we were left stranded for a long, long time. The world of scanlating needs more heroes like you.

Thanks, Hughinja, for letting me know. I will probably go back and fix that because I noticed a typo somewhere else. Glad I could help out, though ^^

Really nice to finally see the ending. Thank you very much sj4iy.

The troublesome "Sensei" Oogaki mentions are other Authors, as he is an editor, for Shinichi as well.

Bit of a struggle to finally finish the series, but thanks for all the translators that finally pulled through!

It's a great love story, quite a satisfying ending too.  This is a love story indeed.

Wow! How did I not know about this manga. And now it's finished, and only now did I read it. That was amazing

Huh. One of the few manga I've read with satisfying endings.

9/10 to prank your dad

It's been a good 5ish years. Bye everyone

Even thought there is only one chapter to go !

Don't tell me this got dropped again... -_-

They've both had tragic things happen to them, and the themes of the story are strongly defined by those experiences, so I can see why somebody might add the tag in good faith, without it being a joke or a troll. On the other hand, the tag tends to imply tragedy as an active component of the story, rather than as an informative aspect of the characters - like, the story itself wallowing in and savouring the taste of tragedy, versus tragic events being something to live with and grow past - so on the whole I agree with it being removed. Not because it's inaccurate, but because this is a more helpful use of the tagging system.
