this was one of the most pointless mangas i have ever read. 

Koharu is clearly a sociopath, no doubt about that. Kudos to the author for trying to get a romcom story with a sociopath as MC. But the experiment has clearly failed. 

 

This could have been a funny siscom/brocom, this could have been a horror story. It's neither and nothing else. It's a normal love story with an abnormal sociopath, only this is not the way sociopath behave: becoming friends with the girl tht slept with the object of your love? really? I call bullshit.

not a sociopath but something like affection disorder, maybe? I'm outdated on DSM and/or CID-10 so I dont know the actual names but she clearly uses senpai as a way of fullfilling her need of affection, acceptance etc that was denied (or poorly given) by her parents 9always working never home etc).

It is played in a high note but honestly it isn't that unusual to impart all one's feelings into asingle person. Thatsaid... yeah, it'screepy af BUT itis also cute so here I am giving it 5 stars

Absolutely amazing. As a fan of vanilla this was perfect. No crazy murder, no insane twists, a good ending...

I think what amazed me the most and what made it work so well was the MC. He was an actual character. If it was your run-of-the-mill MC he would have never called out Mika when she verbally assaulted Koharu nor would he have called out Koharu for physically assaulting Mika, both actions which developed their characters and relationship significantly.

What a poster before me said is correct: This isn't a story about a crazy girl falling in love with a guy, it's a story about a crazy girl falling in love with a guy AND a guy falling in love with a crazy girl, and both of them coming to terms with what that means. Because of who Koharu is Akira can't sit back and be passive. Because of who Akira is Koharu can't go full crazy and endanger herself or others. Through each other they grow.

Oh and if you think 'nothing happened', you're horribly wrong. No, no one got decapitated or butchered suicided, but this isn't that kind of story. It's a story about the characters, and in that regard plenty happened.

I like Mika better somehow

I remember this! I looked it back up recently, i'm pretty sure this was one of my very first Manga i ever read!

Seriously, i remember how terrifying this girl was to me back then. Re-reading it, she doesn't seem so bad.

Maybe years of Yandere's like Emukae and the girls from Abnormal-Kei and Seeking for Death jaded me to people only a 'little' Yandere.

Still, that flute sucking thing,

Well that was one hell of a read, such intense emotion.... 

I can't read this in one sitting. Seriously, I have trouble breathing and grinning from ear to ear, all because the love is so strong it actually suffocates the readers.(Mostly me)

Seriously this is bad for me in a lot of ways.

I just made the mistake of reading all the way through in a single sitting reading it for the first time ever and oh my god I think I might have a breakdown. I don't know how I feel about this exactly but I will have to come back one day and read it again to try to wrap my head around it.

This story was as much about Akira's journey towards accepting Mitsuki as she is as it was about Mitsuki finding someone to return her feelings . And let's face it - Mika was there since childhood and yet Akira never noticed her. Mika could have kept trying and outright confessed to Akira and it's still very doubtful Akira would have been able to return those feelings. And yet all it took Mitsuki was to stumble on a train to set her mind and heart. The rest of the manga was all about Akira finding a way to accept her feelings and settle his own. Creepy? Hell yes, but based on the epilogue, it's not like either one of them suffered as a result of it.
 

At the end the author played off Koharu's mentality as how she naturally is, since psychological tendency runs in the family. (yeah they "made" another one) I can't hate this explanation since I can't deny it anyway.

About supporting characters, they are really true to their role, ie supporting the two main characters. Natsu is the merry, care-free girl, the one accelerate the initial romance moments (really, this is what all best-friend-character should do). The other guy didn't do much. Mika is the type of tsundere I really like, ie she knows where to stop, in contrast to the main heroine. Mika is also the one that helps advancing the plot.

Holy shit. Did i just seriously read a yandere manga without a single fatality!? This deserves a special place and a medal just for that single fact.

I think you're seeing too much in black & white. Koharu is a 5, maybe 6 out of 10 in the yandere scale; meaning, that altough she may be dangerous if left alone, she can be corrected and trained up to a certain point is she's loved back and the right decisions are made.

Writing this, I realized that you're most likely trolling, but whatever, I'll continue.

This is not a horror story, because Akira and his friends managed to defuse Koharu on time. Also, this is just my opinion, but the romance was really cute if you had the stomach to stand the light creepiness(I've seen far, faaaar worse...).

In my book, this "experiment" is a success; this is one of the most interesting mangas I've read in months 4/10.

But everyone else already explorered all of these possibilities. Besides, this is manga, it doesn't have to be 100% realistic.

It's good to actually try something different, i'm tired of seeing every manga of a genre unfold the same way.
