This manga opens with a rape scene in chapter one, and tries to justify it by saying "oh, normal human consent is boring and couldn't make her come", meanwhile the guy lead somehow just learned to make her cum without listening to her or needing any input at all, even though clits are pretty different and everyone has different sensitivities. Pointless boring 50 shades of douchebag lookalike smut. The girl is way too pretty and good for him, he should die alone. Who the fuck rapes their own employee. Gross.
Wow. Literal reply to a panel: "...Or is it my fault that I didn't explain it well...?" Me: "Yeah, because you're a stupid asshole." Not often a short- and a short that spends a lot of its time being smutty at that- gets me attached enough to a character to rebuke them.
So... as Niry had said- worth reading.
I love the art, simple but effective. Fuji's looks are totally what I like. He unfortunately was having some of the more annoying jerk boyfriend symptoms as is usual for this sort of couple near the end, but he was in no way as bad as he could be. With its being only one volume, miscommnication and misunderstanding get resolved quickly, a good thing. Otomaru's getting more confidence came at a good time, too. I rather like that she didn't become completely take-charge since it'd be kind of over-the-top and cheesy. I think the pace is pretty perfect. I'm also very pleased that Otomaru is actually competent at her job. Her timidness maybe debilitating to her relationships with others, but it doesn't stop her from doing her job and doing it well.
What I love the most about this manga is actually the other employees. How often do you see co-workers in a setting like this who are endlessly supportive and not bullying the timid female lead or take advantage of her or get jealous of her and try to interfere with the relationship? I can probably count them on my hands of all the manga I've read. They root for the couple but don't go overboard in trying to push them together, either. They are what really made the manga for me. Love them!
