Man why are all these Kino adaptations redoing the same stories. Boooring.

yes.. I understand.. I do feel bit disappoint too after i saw that title page.. Like, aw.. Come on man.. This again? I've already watch this on the old anime, on the new anime, and now on the manga too??
I WANT THE OTHER STORYYY.. I want to see the other country first, they can just make this coliseum arc later..
Yes.. I understand that.. But.. This manga is an adaptation, this adaptation is more targeted to people who didn't read the novel or watch the anime before.. They need this several chapter to build up the story..
For me, it's like it pacing from slow calm story to be more rough gory bit by bit.. To slightly show what this manga can be.. This is an important part so that readers didn't feel too shocked by the sudden change..

And what can we do now is.. be patient... *hhmh* inhale that oxygen.. Release it slowly... make that okay sign with your hand.. Be calm.. And just enjoy the adaptation as the way it is..

Because they're based off of light novels that told these very stories.

I'm aware. I would rather these adaptations make their own stories. The countries are more important that whatever lackluster story is in the light novels. One reason the new anime adaptation sucks is because it focuses so much on characters who aren't kino.

I'm not talking about real world. I came here not to read about real world. I'm surrounded by the real world, in fact. What I missed is real humans, who acts like humans would in given premice, because I'm a human. I have problem with it, because Kino's Journey positioned as a, more or less, serious work. And it started to get Naruto-tier plot-holes. Naruto isn't a work about complex issues and an inner world of human being, so, when MC acting as a retard, it is forgivable, because nobody gave high hopes from the beginning. Kino intends the readers to think, and I'm thinking. Regardless, I'm easly accepting an existance of not one, but two prospering, well-developed and terramorfed by G.E.C.K. cities in the middle of deserted nothing, which fights each other regularly not over resourses, sources of power, water at the very least, but just because. I'm totaly OK with it and many more.

ok but surely you do realize that kino has that kind of episodic formula going for it right. it's a traveling series kind of thing. she is riding a talking motorrad for gods sake and sentinent tanks appear . Of course the world setting does not make sense in the sense of technology gap but it is more about the wonderous and strange things kino sees than it is about critical whatever kind of things that "get you thinking".

they probably want you to think " the world is not beautiful. therefore it is" as in there are strange and wonderful things out there.

also maybe some countries are so technologically advanced that they want to keep other countries less advanced right.

of course two countries who have been fighting against each other for hundreds of years will not waste much thought or resources on a bunch of nomadic savages.

and there have been such things as proxy wars.

when angry revolutionaries of both countries want to end the mutual conflict, the option of slaughtering natives in other countries doesnt seem so weird. heck thats basically the whole colony business.

Is there a "prologue in the forest - a"? It seems missing.

Edit: okay, seems it's an epilogue. I don't understand the meaning of putting the second part before the first.

Ha3... Well, what u said is true, I can't counter ur argument when u solely stick to the hard fact in the real world n then compare it to kino's alternate world directly. But if u think u can enjoy more the kino's journey by using that perspectives, that's okay too... I think the most important thing is getting the moral story n the author's messages. N by reading ur argument, I'm sure u already grasped what the author's was really trying to convey

Well, first: simple not equals unlogical. You can do a simple premice, and it can still be understandable, interresting and uncontroversial with itself. Stories, where fantasy element is people being otterly stupider than any people you would imagine, is not a good stories. Flawed critique is allso not a good critiqe.

Spoiler

And, for your conclusion. You, basicly, saying, that we should ignore obvious logical flaws(meaning the most blathant ones), that makes at least me appreciate this work less, to appreciate this work more? Well, that sounds logical in itself, but I should disagree. I can not ignore some of those. Like those tribal guys could've just go avay. It's not a real world, where there are borders all over the place and all land is occupied. We saw tons and tons of uninhabited lands Kino passed.

I don't mind if you guys still arguing about "peaceful land".. But could you please use spoiler tag? So that super long rant wouldn't spam the comment section..

Point taken.

Seriously Guys. Some of these comments are missing the point of Kino's Journey. Kino Journeys are just allegory for Human Nature. Most of the time, its taken to the extreme to the point where it is beyond realistically possible. However, the point is that they are simply various reflections of humanity that we can identify with ourselves and the fact that we realize that it is still slightly possible that it can happen to us given our human nature if its taken to the extreme.

Still, it could've been done better. Like the story about the Land of visible pain one. There were humans, they've created something, they've interracted with its consequences like a normal human beings. Just reform the premice for those stories, so all those actions would look logical, and it would be great.

And in the end, why they were so scared of a 6-shot-than-empty gun? That's the 15-th year they've been slaughtered by much more dangerous guns. So they should understand it a little.

Actually I think this is precisely why they got scared of Kino. She was using the same weapon as those who had been murdering them (with little effort) for 15 years. And it's precisely because the Tatata do not understand these modern technology (it could have looked like sorcery from their POV) that they continue to be easy targets for their neighbors. As you can see they haven't progressed much from axes even after more than a decade of slaughter, which is believable considering certain time periods in our world's history. Perhaps they will in the future, perhaps not.

Why don't the Tatara just MOVE?

Also, if you want someone to come with you, why would you tell them why? Trick them.

It's also been proven that these once a year stress releases don't work. People can't restrain their urges to a single moment. You're telling me these are totally peaceful, happy societies that only one time a year or so commit mass genocide?

This is stupid.

yeah why dont the jews just move out of israel, i mean who's stopping them amirite. i mean the whole conflict can be solved in 5 seconds if someone just move amirite haha

and then you have one technologically advanced populace next to some tribal savages who the former guys kill for sport. i mean you'd expect some people with sticks and rocks to outrun hovercrafts amirite hahahah

it just doesnt make sense, which is you being fu***** retarded

Like those tribal guys could've just go avay. It's not a real world, where there are borders all over the place and all land is occupied. We saw tons and tons of uninhabited lands Kino passed.

There's a pretty big difference between traveling through a desert at 100mph and 3mph

I think u misunderstood the point of the Kino's Journey story. Her story mostly revolves around 'simple' unbelievable over-dramatic scene which reflect our today's society to serve as critiques.

But well, this is just my opinion which can be totally wrong as well... But I think that's how we should read the Kino's Journey so that we can appreciate it in the higher degree...

Oh boy, it's exactly rant-o-clock.

Well, that episode wasn't so bad, like the one before. But i have few major THICC BUTs.

First of all: war became not needed, when the conflict, that lies in its foundation, is resolved. What they did is change from a war to a semi-dangerous painis contest. I can't see, how this resolves anything. Their reason to fight was "their religion, culture, race and language is totally different than ours". It looks like unsolvable dilema, untill there is only one. But OK, it can be an ironical-grottesque thing. Two societies claim to be different, but, in fact, too similiar, have a conflict. And they resolved it through suffering of the weaker. Just little too unbelivable premice for my taste.

Second: how the hell those tribal guys managed to maintain population after the 15 years of yearly purge, and why didn't they got the hell out of there after that happend for the first time? We saw Kino crossed lots of different biomes, which are empty. There are even an empty city with that radical democrat we saw earlier. Is there are something, that bounds people to the place? And in the end, why they were so scared of a 6-shot-than-empty gun? That's the 15-th year they've been slaughtered by much more dangerous guns. So they should understand it a little. And tribal warriors tend to not be afraid of death and things they understand. That's how they raised, because otherwise you'll became dead warrior/hunter very fast.

!!?? They need to invent something that called "video games"..

That didn't stop the West's "peacekeeping" missions

Ahhhh.... The end justify the means. If they are to gain happiness and peace, even by killing the weak, there's nothing wrong with. Suck it up, the weak will always suffer... That is just how the world works...

"You know what'll stop our endless war? Endless genocide!"

Female politicians, not even once.

!!?? They need to invent something that called "video games"..

Double gun - double fun. Listern, Ivan. It is undojable gun. When you shoot it, bullets fly to the left and to the right of your target. You may say it is stupid, because you can't hit center of the painted circle. But in real life you shoot people, not circles. And people dodje. You may ask me, Ivan, how I know people would certainly dodje. And I say you can not not to dodje, when big, meancing and just scary-looking gun like this is pointed at you. You dodje and get a bullet. Hail to Motherland and our weapon genius! It is, allso, wery good for camping. My uncle, Fyodor, camped 50 capitalists in one round after taking position near their respawn point. In normal situation you never know, will freshly-respawned go left, or right. With this gun you don't need to guess any more. And if someone tries to dodje not left, not right, but down, you just hit him in a face with your boot.

Listen Sergei two barrel on one gun is one less gun for worker. Only dirty capitalist would put more gun on his gun to show he is greater than soviet. Then he go street of America shoot sideway from cadillac pretend he is of criminal gangster. Cannot reload both barrel fast, cry to sleep in prison at night. Pah! Waste of good metal! Good communist would break gun in half over leg, hand over half to comrade. Double the fun, true socialist way.

More like Land Of People Who Never Learn. Each previous land had something, around what it was built. Something, that can't be made in our world. Like initiation in adulthood via surgery and brainwashing in order to create ideal citisen, sciense made everyone able to hear others thoughts, etc. Here we have unearthly stupidity and dedication to an ideology. Seriosly, the whole nation(population of one town) was at it, not just some psycos. There is still one thing stupider. I just can't understand, why royal family didn't established something like "we are decdendants of God, if our family die sun wil never rise again, blah-blah.". Seriosly, those guys played simplified democracy on death sentence until there are two people left. They easly could've ate pseudoreligious bullshit of poorest quality without questioning it at all.

Why other stories, so far, looks good, and that so stupid?
