Think of the traps you have seen in anime and manga.Storywise they really have no reason to exist other than fujioshi bait.Hideoshi(baka test)was just there for the sake of it.He was made "sexy" for the sake of it.There is no point of him being a dude in the story.

There is no normal sane reason to crossdress.If they are going to behave like one gender than the trap is meaningless.
But king of idol deals with this well.His reasoning for crosscrossing is justified.He has to be effeminate or he will be in deep trouble.
The Mahoro Cannon solves this problem of the trap.It is the MAN element of it.With that reminder,he becomes the only example of a trap done right.
