To me he doesn't seem to lack emotion as much as social awareness. But I could be wrong, there are only a limited number of clues to go by, with regards to how he feels about people...
...ah, how I hate it when a series like this is on indefinite hiatus such that I may never know the answers to these questions.

I love some of the bits where genius-somewhat-autistic-boy messes with cliches. Like the moment where he seems to be protecting her from falling things except you realize a moment later he was just stopping the falling book from hitting the floor and getting damaged. Or watching the murder mystery.
Normally at this stage it would be completely obvious that poor Kuze is toast. It's kind of clever to introduce doubt by having the guy who would obviously be winning apparently incapable of most emotion. I wonder if this is going to play out kind of like one of those romance manga with robots learning to be human.

That one stoic guy with that one ambiguous comment who has a scary face but apparently a good heart just swept my heart away. Delinquent looking guys with a soft spot are exactly my type. I have a bad feeling this will become a love triangle which would tear me apart because I'm already on the side bae's side. I'm crossing my fingers that that won't happen (even though it's most definitely gonna happen cuz shoujo)!

Mothers seem to 'snap' one day from "protect" to "matchmaker" sometimes, and from that point onwards will start making very strange suggestions. This isn't something that only happens when you're in your 20's, either.
For example, mine started attempting to set me up with her various students, collecting phone numbers from any interested and passing my picture along as soon as I started college. Which might not sound so bad... except she was teaching grade 7.

What kind of mother would let a teen guy live alone with her daughter??
