This is a pretty good martial arts manga. The last volume felt like the author fanboying about Li Shuwen, but other than that it's a great series. Highly recommended for any martial arts fan.
(I feel as if Kenji is a spiritual predecessor of History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi, especcially for Tanimoto/Hermit fans.) It's strange this hasn't been read more.
tl:dr: It's good. Read it if you like martial arts.
I had a feeling it was a bit rushed during shaolin monk arc
Haha, Vol 4, Ch 6 mentions Jess Willard from Pottawatomi county Kansas.
I'm from Pottawatomi county and have driven through "Willard, Kansas" (named for Jess Willard) too many times to count. ;-)
This is a fine manga. The art work is so detailed background-wise and the faces and expressions are fascinating. It makes me wonder if the late 1980s was the high-tide of manga art.
I wish there was more. It's always sad when you finish a great story.
