Two chapters of the first Anthology volume have now been posted.  There are links to both in the description above.

Ganbatte, Ermine-chan! T_T

Kind of an underwhelming read. The character developments and the cutesy "comedy" scenes weren't good, despite it being the source material for the interesting TV show. It's not really trying to pull you in unless you expect it to be a slice of life about animal girls. But even just that is not interesting enough. The characters were pretty much underdeveloped and are like cut and paste, only leaving a weak impression. Honestly, if it were not for the TV show I would doubt that people will seek this manga. This manga just doesn't really work that well as a standalone... unless you're into animal girls (a la kemonomimi), reading this will make you wonder "what's the point?" or "hmm... ok." often. But yeah, maybe if you're a fan of this franchise give this a go. But even then you'll find that there's not much world (and world building) to explore in this manga. It's like drinking expired lukewarm milk, 1/5.

It's not the "source material" for the show. The show, game, and manga are all separate parts of the same multimedia franchise.

Anyone know what it says on the tv monitor on the very last page?

See you again.

Anyone know what it says on the tv monitor on the very last page? What happen to chapter 19?

Should update the info for this on Manga updates. https://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=122000

And then Nana died.

I hope she did.  She's a bitch.

And then Nana died.

We still have ch. 19, right?

Yes, sorry, just bad timing.  I fixed a typo so the new one has to get approved again.

So the infamous mobile game I've heard about is also generic and boring? That explains a lot.

The game's writing is fine, it's just that it was made by Nexon. So gameplay and everything else were just pure garbage.

Other way 'round.  Manga predates the anime, both in-world and IRL, and depicts park before proverbial poo hit metaphorical fan.

Not so sure about this one. This has all the interesting stuff in the anime taken out

>which are also exclusively male features. That's because all animals, male or female, turned into kemonomusume. Mine-san already confirmed it in one of his tweets. Emperor too was also possibly a male, with that talk about fasting.

A peacock Friend.  Sure that's not "peafowl" or "peahen"?  The fancy bling-pheasants are only the males, as the pealadies are rather lowkey*.

*FYI: Humans totally have it backwards: among dinosaurs, dudes have the fanciful mating plumage.  Humans dress up the ladies and leave the dudes in drab suits. :P

Then again, the Lion(ess) Friend does have a mane, and Moose has antlers, which are also exclusively male features.

>_>
<_<

[Awkward silence.]

Thankfully, the anime cleared that up. They'll get eaten by Ceruleans, turned back into their animal forms, then turned back into Friends when the next Sandstar eruption happens. Of course, Zebra will probably be very unhappy when the Cerulean spits her out right next to Lion, but that's life.

Also, the general rule that Sandstar doesn't need live animals to create Friends (just hair or bones will suffice) kinda explains why there are extinct animals running around in Japari Park. It made me wonder. When you think about it, you can technically bring back extinct animals to life using Sandstar: Get bones of dodo, sprinkle Sandstar on them, get Dodo-chan to where Ceruleans are, feed Dodo to Ceruleans, wait for Ceruleans to spit out the rainbow ball, get life dodo. Genius!

Except tsuchinoko implies she's been alive throughout the whole series. That means either

A) EVERY, SINGLE Friend fought and got eaten by Ceruleans (which is edgelord-fanfic-bullshit considering how they're treated in the manga alone)

B) Some/all Friends left the island with the humans and nearly/everyone we see in the anime is a brand new Friend (which open up brand new plotholes in the anime)

or

C) The Friends stayed on the island to contain/fight the Ceruleans/monitor the seal and eventually died off from old age thus leading to a jumbled 'passed down from generation to generation'-knowledge of humans.

More or less, yes.

Is this anything like that hentai where we were shown how cows who look like human girls give milk?

I'm interested in this.

Came here after finishing the anime.  It wasn't the best show of the season but I would call it the biggest surprise.

so more or less animal girls will die

More or less, yes.

Hardly first. She's the park guide. She's been here since chapter 1.

And I doubt there will be much connection. The manga appears to be earliest in the timeline, back when the park was functional, before any Ceruleans appeared. Next comes the game, which appears to be set (roughly) during the timeline of the anime's flashbacks seen in Mirai's recorded logs. And then finally comes the anime.
