Nanba atsuko works better with oneshots. Her longer series have the emotions, but not the proper development with relationships.
The 2nd story hit home about girls and makeup. So if you aren't naturally attractive and gets teased for it, make up and pretty clothes are like "armor" - it protects them and makes them feel secure and impenetrable.
Then girls get teased for putting too much makeup. They just can't win.
Most guys like girls with moderate to less makeup. Balance is key.
The 3rd story dealt with dating and balancing friends. I understand the girl completely. If you are nice to everyone, how will the gf/bf feel special right? You're always treating everyone the same, and not enough attention is allotted to him/her.
I didn't like the last story as much. Romance wise, it was very minimal, but the focus on not giving up on their dreams was ok.
Overall, decent oneshots. Give this a try if you don't mind less fluffy, more heartwrenching angst.
