where can one read the rest of the manga for free? i know an official translation is out but i really don't afford to pay $8 for each volume
i wonder if someone will pick it up. a damn good mango.
Just read the 26 available chapters.
After the events with Nina, I lost virtually all sympathy for Kasane. The main two words that come to mind when I try to describe her character are "vile" and "wretched". Now I kinda wish for something really terrible to happen to her by the end of the manga, with her life ending up in ruins and beyond salvation.
chapter 101... wow..... this manga is really amazing. very difficult to read but amazing
By volume 11, it looks like we're entering the final arc. And it's incredible.
And for those who don't know, there's gonna be a live action film of this. For some reason.
and not everyone is a saint. The people in the manga, for example, are horrible people in the story because they bully kasane, kasane and the other main characters are horrible for using others as well and sadly, the world is filled with even more horrible people in civil societies. It's not a secret and it's not fair to ignore and pretend it doesn't exist. If you don't agree, you could say why and explain. But no need to call someone you don't even know "a horrible person". After all, we've all done something horrible then realized it and changed our behaviour.

Her face is grotesque. Look, we all try and be nice people - especially in person - but the truth is the vast majority of us are shallow, cruel, petty people who willingly gang up on the ugly people, the weak people, the people who are so utterly different from us.
That's why this manga is gripping me. It reminds people like me, the normal ones, of times when we treated others badly for being different. It makes us feel sick to our stomachs, brings tears to our eyes, drains the blood from our faces.
That's also the reason why I can't stand WataMote. It reminds me of myself. But this series makes me feel empathy for the victims, not pity for myself.
That cornering technique...brilliant and nefarious. It's saddening last resort but at the same time you can't help but marvel at the flawless execution.

Her face is perfectly normal. I don't see what the big deal is.
Can't wait for Kasane to do the dance of the seven veils. I find interesting that the author chose the role of Ionakaan for the actor who puts pressure on Kasane. It makes sense because it's the character whom Salomé obsesses over, but the one she dances for is King Herod; he also has more lines in the play. Ionakaan stays a sizeable part of it offstage.
this is no doubt... a masterpiece of work , really nerve wracking of how thing will goes to , was wish that they have better relationship than enemy in trade .. kasane x nina T.T
Just fetched my edition of Wilde's complete works and read Salomé. I can understand why the author chose it for Kasane's rise to stardom. It fits this manga perfectly.
Interestingly, rereading chapter 07 I saw production poster art for Salomé in Kasane's mother's picture book. So the author really planned this development well in advance.
Now I have to find a translation of the Seagulls…
This really is a compelling read, I always can't wait for the next chapter. It's one of those stories that gives the feeling its exploring the grey side of things. You have a character you can sympathize with and you can see the parts of her that are sincere and innocent. At the same time though some of her actions and her lies reveal her desperation and darker twisted side. You are wishing her to finally get happiness and succeed while at the same time wonder/worry if her pursuit of that will result in her devolving into a madness of sorts. It's a fun sense of tension the story creates.
Manga aren't officially labeled by genre, they are by the kind of magazine they're published in.

Does anyone know why this manga is labelled as seinen? I thought it would be in the josei genre instead.

The thing that surprises me the most is how long the lip stick lasted. Considering that her mother used it for who knows how many years, and now she's using it... Where can I find this infinite lipstick?
