Karakuri Circus

Welp, now that this ship is sinking. I wish you all the best going into the future and hope that someday soon we get a proper conclusion to these translations.

This is still one of my favorite series out there.

So he won't translate anymore because "muh 4 chan is heitful speesh gais and tramp won so it's literally the end of the world for me".

You sure feel entitled towards the person who translated the manga for free. Translate it yourself if you're such a smartass, then. 

No wonder people don't want to keep translating when anime/manga fans are as ungrateful as you.

I would say to call lord Stark but, to this point I've forgot how many are still alive ( most of the wolves didnt last one book ) . Well friends this will be a really cold winter.

Still bundled up here. The good thing about being the kind of guy who reads a lot of monthly series is that you get used to long stretches of no chapters.

I've been keeping warm with Dungeon Meshi, Keyman: The Hand of Judgement, After school Dice Club, and Gleipnir.

How has everyone else been keeping cozy?

The long and short is that 4chan is an imageboard based forum based on a japanese website called 2chan. Very stream of consciousness, topic threads have very short lifespans (counted in days at the longest) and is a place where users are commonly referred to as "anonymous" because the board doesn't require you to have a username or login credentials.

 

The forum is broken up into larger topic boards (anime/manga, Mecha, Television/movies, etc) And If I'm understanding Funnuraba's tumblr post correctly; currently, the steady rise of /pol/ culture (that would be the politically incorrect board) is what's causing them to not like the site and by extension the manga fandom. I would say that "not all of 4chan is like that" but I don't know which boards aside from /a/ that Funnuraba would have frequented and even then what I'm about to say would still be present there.

 

Make no mistake, 4chan has always been a very crude and untamed place, and jokes at the expense of everyone, including minority groups, the mentally ill, pop culture icons, literally anything has been subject to ridicule. But the current round of board culture, and more specifically what's been leaking out of /pol/ is a very far right (conservative) brand of ideology that was spurned onwards by Trump announcing and winning his bid for presidency.

 

It could always have been like that for all I know though. I have no familiary with the site until maybe 5 years ago and my interactions there are on the board dedicated to traditional board games and tabletop RPG's and we do a decent job of policing our own and keeping that type of mentality from polluting discussions. But as for /a/ which is the manga/anime board and has served (in part) as a place for fan scanlations to be advertised and posted. While I can't remember the last time anyone mentioned Karakuri Circus as a thread OPening, it does get mentioned there occasionally, and all of Funnuraba's observations about the site in general are accurate.

 

As for the likelihood that 4chan will ever stop being what it is. That's highly unlikely until the website actually folds so I guess brace yourselves because winter is coming and it will be a long cold unless Funnuraba decides to lift the embargo, or someone else picks this up.

I dont even know what exactly 4chan is, Im not from United States and now because of a site where it should be place of refuge and people with no self control this happen, have to say, inside I am feeling bad about that i cant read a manga I love anymore and the fact a person is sufering because something so stupid.

Of all the things I thought would happen after the election. No more Karikuri Circus wasn't one of them.

After reading it I feel no right to ask you to keep scanlating Karakuri Circus. Know that I and fans who DON'T support 4chan and their hate propaganda will be here if you ever return. 

I hope everyone here can give you suggestions where you can go to hang out with fellow anime/manga fans who aren't complete monsters. You don't need 4chan and places like it. I frequent the Arlong Park forums and sometimes go to Mangahelpers.

Talking about your personal life online is brave, its made me feel even more grateful for what you've done for us and hopeful that even in the world we live in right now exceptional people like yourself exist.

A week without an update. i hope everyone is doing alright.

My favorite moment was seeing Francine slapping baby shirogane's butt. Added humanity to her and was too funny.

I really enjoying this arc, thanks a lot Funnaraba >_<

This whole sequence has been surreal. Guy the would-be assassin helping deliver the child he was sent for and the Arch-enemy of the Shirogane coming in with the last minute spanking.

Action, nudity, robots, comedy, drama, history, education, bodily fluids...this chapter has it all.

Is this... filler? i think i am reading filler.

Man i've read about one or two other mangas with birth scenes and man they are always more intense than any figth scene that i've read, and done by Fujita-sensei the master of intensity these last chapters I readed holding my breath.

I find Francine's lack of knowledge about human reproduction hilarious. "You mean to tell me that humans...come from inside other humans?"

"Don't worry it's fine, as long as it's not X"

Every time a manga does this it's the biggest red flag ever. Black flag even, even skull and cross bones flag.
