Pretty surprised to see Masaki Suda on page 18. If I remember correctly I read he didn't want to replay his role on Kamen Rider because it's 'too childish'. Does it means he will make come back with Kiriyama Renn?

It wasn't that it was too childish, I thought it was because he didn't want to be "Typecasted" into the "quirky intellectual type" because how good/endearing he was at it

Like how Kugimiya Rie tends to be chosen for roles as loli tsunderes like Nagi from Hayate or Louise from Familiar of Zero when she can play characters like Alphonse Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist just as well

It was his acting debut after all and what people will think of when they see his resume, so he went after contrasting roles to keep people from only giving him that single type or roll and build up his resume and acting experience

Sure it's a bit hard on the fans, but it's only good for him in the long run

The henshin was worth the wait.

Still no henshin, but the pacing of the story is very good, the dopant looks amazing, and everything we expect from W is here.

Yeah, Double's actually a really good choice for a starting show if one wants to get into Kamen Rider (or even if you just want a standalone show).  It's excellent all around and doesn't require any foreknowledge of the franchise.

 

On topic, loving the first chapter, though Shotaro's half-afro (halfro?) just looks kinda weird to me.  Kinda wish they'd draw his hair a bit closer to his appearance in the show, but I guess they want him to have a distinctive look.

Kamen Rider can be really awesome at times. Sometimes it's just goofy.

Kamen Rider Gaim is my personal favorite. Try it. It's pretty weird at first but around a few episodes it becomes awesome.

As expected of a Kamen Rider manga, this is much darker and edgier than the tv series. It's still awsome though. And I like how the characters and locations (especially the Narumi Detective Agency), as well as the Gaia Memories, are exactly as they appear in the show. This really is a sequel that stays true to the characters and concepts of the source material. Now all we need is W's debut in the manga. I can't wait!
