To all the people that are upset over a lack of a romantic ending: I disagree.
If they did include one, I'd feel like it would be incredibly shoehorned in. The way it did end felt completely natural considering Hime's and Hiro's relationship. This manga has always never needed a romantic plot and never purposefully suggested one.
In fact, I find it kind of refreshing to have a male and female be dedicated to each other and not have it end in love.
One of my first manga that I have read and definitely one of my favorites. Though I wonder if there really was enough romance to justify that romance tag.
Just finished reading after dropping it for a while.. and the most mind blowing thing is-
Reasons
1) manga and eventually anime did not get enough traction in japan (yes as much as I like them their nationalistic tendencies are holding them back too much)
2)He mainly does H mangas now mainly in the doujishi scene as its a lot less stressful specially if you have a fanbase set up and hes doing more collaborations rather than original works (no real deadlines)
3) His popularity went down
I feel like this had so much potential to be bit better. Whole time reading this I was waiting for things to get bit more exiting but it didn't happen : / And ending was bit anti climatic.

Yeah. While I agree that this isn't really the manga for it, it still would've been nice to have something. Or at least implications of, more than the Hiro's devotion to Hime bits. I'd actually like to see Hiro with Sherwood over Hime. Maybe even Riza. With Hime becoming Sherwood's support, could be possible.
Based off ch77, I think he'd stay immortal. Prince Fuhito referred to Keziah as one. Immortal in the sense that they have enough power to sustain it. Not sure if they'd still be affected by age like the Monogatari series' version of a phoenix.
Does Hiro stay immortal then? because Hime's blood won't do anything more right?
Did they not go over why Hime dislikes her name, or did I just miss it?

A romantic ending wouldn't make sense anyway, seeing that there was absolutely no romantic development during the entire series. That was a satisfying ending for me.

I have the feeling the author is not fully satisfied with the ending of the series, so maybe there will be a sequel of some sort. Or maybe is just me, being hopeful lol
