I miss long haired Ange
iirc it wasn't that much of a time skip. An epilogue of sorts. The actual story line has ended. But with the demand to continue it - they picked up where the epilogue left off. And Ange had already been mentioned in the main series. You don't see her, but Akane sees her at a meeting of royals and goes to greet her.
I just realized/forgot/didn't pay attention: was there a timeskip after the election was over? Why? Was it so they could introduce Ange at a time that "makes sense"?

So Angelica killed her own mother with her power when her mother give birth or she is the wife of the king and just got back to being a child with her power.

the main point of the series was the election and akane's fears/insecurities/herself
now this is just millking the moe ... funny from time to time, but don't expect anything else.

She's always been full of bright ideas, that one.
Bullshit minor drama overblown to ridiculous proportions, introduced usually in retcons... oh sorry, "flashbacks", set in a world where nothing bad ever happens(unless it's a setup for bullshit minor drama to be used later, or rather sooner because it's in a flashback that will instantly become relevant), all tensions resolved in two chapters max, everybody loves everybody, superpowers pulled out of ass and put back into the ass whenever they stop being necessary for the plot, in the end good guys win, bad guys turn out to be good guys misunderstood all along, pat on the head. The author even copped out of the very premise of the manga, which was the king thing, "Whoosp, the guy nobody voted for suddenly won because reasons", because if he didn't they we could have - oh my god the horror - some conflict between characters.
And yet, despite all this badness, it still manages to somehow be so bland and boring that you cannot even be angry about it. You can't do something like "lol check out this shit-tier manga I found" and link here. Everyone would be like "that's it? meh" The author is so bad that even though he wanted to make a bad manga he even failed at that.
Haruka x Ange is a little boring, I really really like the bait-and-switch that just happened!
