Kinda disappointed that Sensei turned out to be a bit of a bitch...I really really liked her at the start of the series. Hope she becomes nicer later on.

so, sensei is actually a bitch who wants to rely on her looks and have everything handed to her by a wealthy guy. i hope nobody falls for her and she has to continue to work. the she can be forever alone girl lol

you rely too much on the internet. a courtesan is not a prostitute. stereotypes, stereotypes everywhere.

And just to clear some things up, a courtesan is not a prostitute. The whoreish stereotype is more of an out of place generalization. Like how some say that politicians are corrupt. Not all are. Or how all who comment on this site are familiar with many manga (im thankful that most of the mainstream ones are not properly added here). Its more or less the same manner how geisha are seen. Some think they were prostitutes, however that is wrong. They were entertainers and hostess.

A courtesan as they mean it is probably a woman who spent time in a royal or noble court.

There are two terms for Courtesan the old term a female who atteneded the kings court and was of wealth or intellect.

New term is a street worker who only has high class clientel.

Basically terms change as time goes on.
