Eh, I took it as If he wanted to take Mirai with him or something like that, since it's kind of implied he was just staying in the city for work or something. The money part is Really weird tho, I guess he felt guilty about leaving without saying anything but like ????
Anyways, is a BL manga, I won't judge it too hard.

Definitely agree. No doubt he was hinting at taking him along, but I guess I was conflicted about his sincerity since he up & left right after ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ lol I can't judge harshly either; the world of BL doesn't support the same irl rationale.

Seriously. wtf, the guys he's seeing are getting progressively older and creepier too. I kinda wonder what "Tanaka" meant by Osaka, but mostly gotta say leaving the money like that was an extra low blow. (-｡-;

I'm just guessing but, maybe the chapters will be about his (Mirai's) different lovers? But in the end his childhood friend is the one who stays. something like that...
