The wall, the ocean...
It reminds me of Attack on Titan? It was a charming oneshot though.
Jeeze, this is a good story. Coulda made a pretty good adventure series had it evolved passed that little island.
About the one shot, it's actually a pretty simple (yet somehow uncommon) theme of "breaking from a cage" and both art and plot are well crafted. Unfortunately the whole scenario is a little too unbelievable even considering it's fantasy and it feels like not much thought has gone into it. That is a weakness that can be seen in many of Komi Naoshi's past works.
