Description: |
The shinden (temple knights) are held responsible with the duty of fighting demons for the sake of the holy maiden, who's the symbol of the church. The holy maiden, unique to this country, exists to help save people from a mysterious illness that happens around the time of a new moon. Due to this, many people became followers [of the church]. Murray, a shinden, was brought up under the holy maiden's guidance, but, what kind of mysterious living is it if he supports the holy maiden, involuntarily? Even if he knew the church distorted its teachings.....?
Here, the curtain rises to Izayakaku's Sakamaki Yukisato as she gives us a twist to a fantasy world. |

Yeah, the majority mistakes the belief with religion and religion with the belief. (Think of religion = Institution; What was first: the religion or the monarchy?) You can call religion an early framework of the boundaries and rules of a society. It was always a means to control people - especially priestly religions.
There is a large body of historical precedent. Actually, religion is almost always about social control (for better or for worse) if you think about it, so that part is genuinely "typical" as opposed to just a well-established tradition.
The "use of religion as a means of social control and justified mass murder" is "typical"?
I don't get it. All I see is the typical use of religion as a means for social control and justified mass murder.
I can see myself getting into this, I hope they have decently quick releases.
nice cliffhanger, and a series that looks like it'll be good.
Good first chapter, can't wait for the next one.
