Description:	Fushimi Inari has a hopeless crush on her classmate Tanbabashi. One day, while trying to interact with him, she accidentally humiliates him in front of the whole class. He refuses to accept her apologies, and, to make matters worse, she discovers that he probably has a crush on their incredibly cute classmate Sumizome. She has all these things in mind when she is summoned by Uka-no-Mitama-no-kami, a pale fox goddess. In return for rescuing a little fox-spirit creature before school that day, the goddess offers to grant a single wish of Inari's. Without thinking, she blurts out that she wants to be Sumizome. As one might expect, this wish does not go nearly as well as Inari had hoped, and the kindly goddess breaks a goddess-rule to give Inari the ability to change herself back. Now, Inari can change her own shape at will, and using her new skill is very tempting as she keeps trying to win Tanbabashi's heart. But if Inari flaunts her ability, both she and the goddess might end up in trouble with Amaterasu!

Man if this actually ended on chapter 45, I think it would be 9/10 at worst. I don't think that Inari is a bad person like a lot of people seem to think, but I think it would imply a lot of growth for it to really end there.

Warning: rant + spoilers. I really wanted to love this series, but it left me feeling like nothing really was learned.

The takeaway at the end is that Uka never really wanted to become a human. She admired humans, especially Iroha, for their determination to take action, and wanted love. Iroha's brother never cared to be a human. With the end of high school, he already was distancing himself from his friends, and he realized that his whole life he had been waiting for something to really capture him--Uka.

That all said, I think it would be more interesting if Inari died in chapter 45. Inari overall had compassion, but what the gods really admired in humans was their willingness to take action to help those they care about. Inari used Uka's power as a crutch for her cowardice, but since confessing to Kouji, she built up the courage to take action. However, sacrificing herself in chapter 45 would have been much more impactful if she had died because, in that moment, she was willing to take the fall.

I guess an issue I have with the series is that I don't understand what exactly makes humans so impressive to gods, or what really sets the two apart besides the obvious supernatural differences. It seems like self-sacrifice, considering the gods' appreciation of Inari's courage to speak up for Uka to the suitors, but she has plenty of selfish thoughts, like wishing to be Sumizume to get Kouji's attention, or hating Minami's friends to the point of causing an avalanche. Is it just acting selflessly? Well, Omiya-no-Me-no-Kami spends all day helping others, and she's a god. Heck, gods grant wishes all day long, and the fact that Uka had to return to the celestial plains periodically to regain divine power indicates that it comes at some cost. Plus, Binny learned to act to help Inari, getting chastised for it. Ok, maybe the gods can learn to act selflessly, but that would just mean the gods are selfish, not that humans are particularly amazing.

Is it courage? Sure, the gods admired Inari's courage to help Uka, and Sumizume was arguably at her best when she burned her hair saving Inari's Valentine. However, didn't Otoshi-no-Kami take a risk by acting against Amaterasu to help Inari (and Uka)? Plus, when did the gods say that courage was what made humans great? Is it really that humans are great because they are weak and still have functional lives? None of the humans were really that admirable, and the gods were human enough that it felt like the reader was just supposed to accept that our "humanity" is what makes us great.

So overall, I feel like the series would be improved overall by just removing the final 5 chapters, leaving Inari to become the new god of Uka's temple, and leaving her growth, and the courage and selflessness of humans implied. Considering all 50 chapters, I give the series only 6/10. The romance and friendship was comfy, but Inari wasn't really impressive, and the plot was basically "Inari has trouble confessing so she causes a lot of trouble for everyone, but makes Sumizume realize she's a lesbian and leads her brother to move to heaven with the local god, before finally getting together with her childhood friend." There were no lessons besides "take action!" which feels really vapid considering how little action Kouji, Chika, or Akemi take, and receive their good end.

Finished all chapters.

The romance between Inari and the guy is really boring and not interesting at all.

But Uka and Touka are really great together. They're both cute and interesting to follow from the beginning till the end.

Then again, Inari is annoying, and do lot of stupid mistakes.

Damn, why this manga is not licencied in France, i would buy it day one.

so glad to finally see the end of this :')

such feels. while the story didn't go in the direction i thought it would, nor the direction i wanted it to, it at least went in such a way as to end on a rather happy note.

yes she forgets about all the events that happened that caused us to want things to get better for her. but her wish of wanting to change has indeed been granted. she didn't revert to who she was before everything happened, her friends don't suddenly get dropped into terrible situations and life continues to move onwards without her feeling as if she is missing something inside.

personally i wanted to see the 2 switch places and the consequences that follow. maybe I will have to wait for another story to cover just that topic, as unlikely as it may be. but overall I am left rather satisfied with how things turned out :3

She willingly gives up her memories of her brother and Uka, its as if they didn't exist in the first place, rather then seek alternative resolution. Sure she gives them her blessing, but the inaction on Inari's part deviates from what was expected out of her-she doesn't take full responsibility of her actions but rather lets her brother and Uka deal with the mess. Somehow it seems she just passed the mantle of being the main character to Uka and Touka. Her lack of character growth is what irks me the most of the story, when the whole plot stemmed from her desire to get a boyfriend she hasn't once acted "like a MC" should and clean up after herself. She began the series as a child, and ended the series as a child that got her wish fulfilled and handed to her on a silver platter.

No reluctance, but pure acceptance in the situation of her brother is what makes me say

to be precise , its like a win- win situation with only slight burnt scar on your hand or arm, rather than die by being burnt to crisp altogether

thats what i think , to say she sold her brother was really, really harsh ,

and technically, it was her that paying the price for that wish, her brother didnt have any effect or anything happen to him,

in short, she didnt sell her brother, but it is her brother's decision and choices on that matter (to be a god with the woman he love/losing his existence and memories to his family and friends)

What do you mean she traded him away just so she could get a boyfriend? Literally nothing that happens to him has anything to even do with Inari at this point. He wanted to become a god so that he could stay with Uka, since his really stupid plan at turning Uka human by letting Inari become a god didn't pan out, he needed a new way to go about being with her.
