I think Dan Hyang is gonna gain a little humanity back and betray the Prince in favor of her roommate and Mu Ryang.. I mean its kinda hard to tell atm, but I think Dan Hyang is starting to gain feelings for him.. Not saying its romantic feelings, but just looking at him as a human being more than just a means to her goal unlike everyone else in the Palace.. But man does Mu Ryang annoy me lol.. Get off Dan Hyang's 12th Century-Style Asian Thong!

Dan Hyang has devoted her entire life to revenge against the king.  I don't think she's going to abandon that for the sake of someone she just met.

This wouldn't be it, since it'd be doubtful they prepared something only for that purpose.

So looking at poison, it is clearly a tool to kill. But whom? Clearly not the Emperor, considering their conversation. It could also be used to aid the assassination and kill other people who would get in the way, but it would be much more easier to just target the Emperor directly that way. Nor is it likely to be used to target anyone else specifically, since it is clear that the birthday festival is where everything will reach its climax- and they need their full attention for the Emperor, and the Emperor only.

Then it should be assumed that the poison is not to kill. But to fake an attempt- using the fact that poison can be diluted, and can be cured through antidotes. So what could faking a murder attempt accomplish? Someone brought up the possibility of framing the Emperor- but this is not likely, since it is unreliable of a method at best, and remember, the Emperor still has steadfast support from half the parliament, who also want the Prince taken care of.

So what else could a falsified murder attempt bring to the table?

Panic. Disorder. Chaos. And an alibi.

Remember, the Prince merely does not want the Emperor's death. He also wants his throne, and rule himself- but if the Emperor were to suddenly die under suspicious circumstances, the number one suspect and benefactor would be the Prince. This would greatly weaken his support, and increases the chances of his plot being brought to light.

Therefore, if the Prince were to also expose himself to the poison- by poisoning both the Emperor and himself, or even the entire royal court, then it would cease to be an attempt against just the Emperor. and by being the victim, excludes himself from suspicion.

Once that happens, panic fills the palace and chaos ensues- the perfect moment for an assassin, such as Dan-Hyang, to make a move.

... I wrote too much, but it's fun to think about such things in such conspiracy-filled works like these, no?

Er but her room mate is on the princes side, and MuRyang sint; exactly on the emperor side either or the princes atm, i don;t think her betraying the prince would bring "humanity" back to her, actually wouldnt it be the opposite.

Seems likely to me that our new right parliamentarian is going to end up converted to "the cause". Studying to become a left parliamentarian? Once and if the prince fully understands the situation, it would be uncharacteristic of him not to pounce on the situation. Needless to say, I believe that our new right parliamentarian will damn the prince, or lead to his victory directly, or indirectly.

My understanding is that his father's final words to him were obliquely suggesting that if push comes to shove he should consider switching sides; even if his father, himself, is too loyal to the king to consider it, he also has to recognize that the king is increasingly mad.  That's why he told his son to consider his own welfare first.

This really still is one of the best conspiracy themed manhwa/manga's on batoto imho. I guess I missed a few chapters so i read a bunch just now. And this got truly brilliant. Thanks easy going scans.

Edit: For people reading comments trying to find out to either read this or not. One tip; read it all in one go and you'll be hooked. The nice art and use of colors as well as the story. Especially the story, if you are into conspiracy, scheming and 'psychological warfare' combined with planning a coup d'etat in a historical setting. You just have to read this.

Hmm, I don't think so. She didn't even know Mu-Ryang was the Right Parliamentarian's son. I think she's more guilty and self-hating (? Not sure if that's the right word) then in love with anyone. Mu-Ryang definitely looked real sad when she rejected him so plainly though (feels).

I beg the creator to not write about romance. This is coming from someone who loves a bit of romance here and there...but pieces like this should be left untouched.

When i first read it I thought that the prince was being stupid to think that the Right Parliamentarian would just switch sides like that.

I like how the MC doesn't posses insane powers to kill dozens of people with little to no effort.

BUT

A person who cooks is called a Cooker Cook
A person who sews is called a Sewer Tailor.
A person who draws is called a Drawer an Artist.

Cookers are what you use to cook rice with,
Sewers, are..... drains,
and Drawers are compartments in your cupboards/cabinets.

(no one makes mistakes such as calling a Cook, a Cooker though.)
