Ehh it's passable. Think of it this way. As a kindergartner (or even before that) she probably walked in on her parents having sex and instead of them trying to trick her and play it off (how to usually deal with it), they told her what actually happened so as to avoid this thing from happening again, whether it was in the heat of the moment or after some consideration. It triggered her curiosity more so she asked more questions and peeked on them enough times for the parents to stop caring about being lewd in the house. And that situation degenerated into what we have on our hands now.
At a certain age, telling a kid the truth after an accidental walk in is a good way to discourage them from bothering sexy time since they'll sometimes be disgusted by it. But they risk the kid being interested in such a topic and eventually normalizing it, which is what probably happened. Bad timing and choices, but it could happen to anyone.
