Ikoku Shoujo to Sumire no Hanataba

This manga can be resolved within 3 chapter, honestly the other development can be erased and the story can still moving. The additional chapter didn't even have anything to do with the theme at all.

So from what I understand

Ryou Grandfather travels to Londan -> met Rose and he also met Sumire Great Grand Mother or something like that, wasn't able to keep the sakura tree promise, Rose became a ghost on the sakura tree in Japan -> met the two children when they were kids and they read Sumire Great Grand Mother diary, made a promise with Rose and years later, they travel back in time -> Story

 

Or no.2 is

They were seeing everything as their Great (and) Grand Mother and Father.

 

No.3

But it could also be, that they travel back in time -> met rose and promise her -> back to the future -> Rose as a ghost met them when they were kids and told them about the promise which was actually made by the future Ryou and Sumire who traveled back in time (story) and the diary of Sumire Great Grand Mother actually belong to the future Sumire, which result in the meeting of Rose and talking about the promise which leads to the story?

 

I think I just confuse myself.

There is a slight issue with your other theories considering it basically says the great grandfather and rose got together. 

I finished reading this 2 years ago. I have to admit the story is very confusing, but it is one of the few stories, somehow I can't forget. Maybe because of it's nice setting or just the beautiful art. A month ago I was bothered, since I've forgotten the name. Fortunately I found it by coincidence again. xD

Well, this series will be eternally on my follow list from now on, so that I shall never forget the name again. :^)

That's inexcusable IMO; proofreading or finding someone else to do so is not hard. For crying out loud, someone typeset that shit without even questioning how messed up the English phrasing was.

The translations as of late have been abysmal. Not in terms of understanding the meaning and getting that into the script--that's done well enough, frequently-weird-text-juxtaposition issues notwithstanding. The fact that there is little to no proofreading is my problem.

Write these lines in sequence without context as if this was originally not in Japanese. Do they make sense? More or less. Are they cringeworthy in their awkwardness? Ab. So. Fucking. Lutely.

Chapter 8 in particular has a similar issue--the problem in the page above is omnipresent in 8. It's on every page! That's inexcusable IMO; proofreading or finding someone else to do so is not hard. Chapter 8 needs a native-English speaking proofreader, badly. I almost cannot read it.

There's work that can be done but it's good enough. Talk to manga2x and proofread it if you think it could be done any better.
