Ichigo 100% - East Side Story

Is this still being scanlated? 

IMO if you thought the ending to Ichigo 100% was "wrong" then you really didn't pay attention to the story. Don't get me wrong, nothing bad about liking one girl over the other, but the story definitely was going the direction it ended the whole time. I don't even think people realize

It is a little sad she had so many axed projects and eventually decided to come back to Ichigo 100%.

If it makes you feel better, baka updates says that she's had an ongoing series since 2015 called Gunjou no Siren.

Nishino was the only one of the three that gave off a girlfriend vibe imo.

Aya was 100% friendzone material. Just too similar to be anything else.

Satsuki was 60% friend 40% one night stand 'with benefits' zone. Kinda sad for her. Shes too mankiller for her own good.

It is a little sad she had so many axed projects and eventually decided to come back to Ichigo 100%.

Depending on the timeline, we probably won't be see Manaka given that he's currently globe trotting. Similarly we won't see Nishino because she's in Europe I believe.

 

After rereading the last chapter it is not implied at all that Aya has a boyfriend at that point. If we get lucky we might get to a point in this story where it passes the original stories timeline. I need more Nishino in my life so we can only hope. 

I really enjoy the fact that it's a clone for the simple reason because they acknowledge it. It also helps that especially with the newest chapter that it is focusing more on the girls. Also it was interesting that they bring up what Manaka is doing, would really enjoy some cameo appearances by him. Like what stuff is he filming, maybe  he helps out Aya when she has a relationship problem with new guy, causing misunderstandings from new guy's perspective. I'm just really looking forward to what she does with these characters again. If this manga is even half as good as the Original it'll still be better then most in my book.lol 

Unless i got something wrong, east SS should be 3 years after the end of the original, but around 1 or 2 years before the reunion epilogue last episode.

 

So manaka should be working his part-time jobs around the world, tsukasa stuying in europe, and aya just recently got her literary prize i think.

I just want to see Aya and Satsuki move on with their lives now with this (but from one of the omakes, Satsuki will most likely be the one still hung up on Manaka while Aya seems to have at least moved on). If this is a signal for growth, all to it. I would also prefer is Aya (or Satsuki for that matter) don't settle for an imitation/replacement either.

Oh god... While I appreciate seeing these characters again... I'm kinda dreading how this will play out given the original series. (Manaka kinda pissed me off with the indecision, though I realize that was a publishing issue/executive meddling to drag out the series.)

I hope this is a bit more Hatsukoi Limited-esque in the long run. (Yes, I realize Ichigo vs Hatsukoi is a strawberry-to-oranges comparison given the different set-ups.) Hatsukoi Limited was better structurally and in terms of character development and exposition compared to Ichigo.

Though I'm already kinda peeved that the male is basically a Manaka-clone right off the bat. (It just oozes keep tie-in/cash-in...) I hope that develops into a different direction over time. (And please god, no stupidity-induced drama for the sake of a longer publishing timeline...)

Oh, and props for the early fanservice courtesy of Satsuki. I almost forgot how hot she is. (I'll admit, just as I feel about Sasuga Kei, I may question the writing at times, but Kawashita-sensei does nice fanservice.)

I feel NTR at first but after that i think Satsuki is just honest.

Aya TOUjo - East ("Tou" is an alternate reading of the kanji "Higashi", which means "East")

Pedant alert: for the Satsuki ending, it would have to be North Side Story (Kita in Kitaoji = North).

I dont think its related to the name, but to the fact that Toujou lives in tokyo, and satsuki in kyoto.

I thought it'd be 100% different character, but actually it's indeed Aya and Satsuki from the old one.

Umm.... I'm 100% subjective here, but I just don't like it. I can't forget how they're in love w Manaka before. And, now that they're gonna be paired with someone else (despite he has almost the same face and name), it feels like the love they have before are untrue.
So, yeah, gonna drop it... If only it's not about their sons/daughters instead.....
