I believe that those dates happen all throughout the manga. We sometime saw him on a date with Yumin in SKR's main manga. This happens as soon as chapter 23 where Yumin reveals her past to Ken or more recently before they went to face Ban Phuong's gang. Ken was always close to Yumin but kept himself from getting too close to her because of his "work".
It's kind of funny how he veers so markedly off the action/ecchi highway and onto a food/slice-of-life country road in this series. Whatever, I like it, and it shows the man's talent to be able to do something as different as this. Definitely one of my favorite authors and someone who's underrated by both the industry and fans alike.
My only complaint is that I wish he'd have some notes placing where these vignettes happen in the timeline, as I can't see him taking her out in the early days of his gang leadership. I'm assuming this is somewhere between when he admits the story of his past to her, and the recent arc that Crunchyroll so rudely usurped.
"I Want to Feed Yumin" aka "Go on multiple foodie dates with Yumin, see her in cute clothes and poses, and learn about Korean food."
Not really my taste, but I'm probably not the target audience. Beautiful artwork, and well made, but doesn't really have a "mass appeal." Just a head's up, since the description's a little sparse and vague. If you're looking for plot, move along.
Boichi actually used the word "reimen" for Hamheung and Pyongyang cold noodles and not "naengmyeon"? I thought with naengmyeon being a traditional Korean food, it would be written in Katakana to sound the way it's locally pronounced rather than the Japanese pronunciation of reimen.
You can totally see the shoujo manhwa past Boichi had through this since the art has a shoujo feel to it compared to how he draws in Sun-Ken. A really cute fanservice manga. ^^
(But, damn, Hotel is a manga leaving a burning imprint in our memories, that kind of imprint lasting a lifetime, I guess it's not that much of a big deal if there is no cooking in it ^^)
It looks incredibly korean.
Made me want to find a Korean restaurant too.
That was a silly little spin-off of SKR.
Whatever that is, it sounds poisonous!
i guess Yumin is cute, but really shes just there, the food is the main character
I think I'm in love with Yumin, too.
After the soup I would definitely be sated.even one bowl would have been too much for me.
Thanks for the work.
And.. Boichi how can you draw such delicious meal? Now I'm drooling *no, not to yumin, but to the meal XD *
