this sounds like the beginning of akame ga kill if you take out all the assassin-related snickerwazzle and dinklesplat.
the pacing seems a bit... off. but the general story is pretty engaging. we'll see how this one ends up!
If it doesn't suit their tastes then they can talk to the "chef"? XD
