Hoshigami-kun wa douka shite iru

I love Asada Nikki's pragmatic heroines and her penchant to transform classic shoujo storylines into such fun romps. People here will know her from the more actively scanlated Oujo ga Watashi wo Akiramenai! with her hilarious, satirical take on the commoner girl + super elite prince trope, but this one, while less funny, has more heart in it so far.

 

One development I hope for is that she doesn't back down from the yandere brocon's intimidations. I want a full scale schemers' war with an oblivious Puregami-kun innocently in the middle. Blood and sparkles, please.

I don't think... I've ever seen such a pure being. This goes way beyond Prez/Nai-chan from Seitokaichou Jousou..... We must protect Puregami-kun!!! He must be protected!!!!

Fuck, this type of subject matter is hitting a little too close to home with me.  Social circles, outcasts, and pretending to not be yourself for your own protection.

 

I just hope it doesn't get a little too...  I won't say "edgy," but heavy, I guess.  I like the two main characters too much to enjoy seeing them get bullied physically and emotionally constantly, and I have a feeling it could end up veering in that direction.

If I'm the MC, I would torment the sparkling hoshi for ruining my lunch, stupid twins, i bet you have zero effort to help your brother

Ooh, okay. If you strip it down to bare bones, it's a pretty common premise for a shojo manga, but it's a little rare for the female protagonist to have this kind of pragmatic personality. She seems relatively well-suited to deal with Hoshigami the younger, now that he's revealed his true colours, but it could go either way depending on how well she holds up under pressure. It's all potentially super generic, but it has a real chance at being surprisingly interesting. Hoping for the best.
