It scares me that so many people don't realize there's a difference between tag definitions and dictionary definitions.
Maybe batoto does need to add a straight tag lol
Batoto uses [romance] as a tag for love between man and woman for lack of better word. The yaoi/yuri/bl tags already works like this for their respective genres. This isn't about political correctness, it's about how people who want m/f manga being able to easily browse batoto the same way people who want m/m & f/f using their own tags.
If you have any more complaints about that, take it to Batoto's staff, as they're the ones defining what the tags stand for. Make them change "romance" to something else because you're offended by their use of it, or whatever, but bashing JokerxHisoka isn't going to help because you're missing his point.

I would like the following changes to be made for the following tags:
Romance = CisScumshit.
Yaoi = Gayshit.
Yuri = Dykeshit.
I hope you take my suggestion seriously because the fate of the world depends on how hurt my feelings are.

Lha I thought that the tag concerning Boys'/Girls' Love (Yaoi, Yuri Shounen Ai, Shoujo Ai) has spoken the existence of Romance inside the story itself already (especially Ai means Love already)... So it'll be redundant to put Romance.. Like, if you want to read romance between man, then just search for Shounen Ai or Yaoi...

Was there seriously an flame war about whether the romance tag, or even the term itself, should be applied to shounen-ai and yaoi? O_o

If people still don't understand:
romance = romantic love between people
Gender doesn't matter, it's still romance when romantic feelings are involved.
Saying that "romance=boyxgirl only" is problematic and harmful in many ways, not to mention that there are also non-binary people who have romantic relationships, and saying that romance=boyxgirl completely erases them and is, again, harmful.

Shoujo, shoujo-ai and shounen-ai are the equivalent of boyxgirl, girl x girl, boyxboy when it comes to manga anime series.
ALL of them are about the romance between two or more people(poly relationships in manga and irl happen too) and therefore should be in the romantic tag.

EXCLUDING TAGS WHEN YOU BROWSE IS A THING
If you want romantic stories but only want shoujo, for example, you can simply include that and then exclude yaoi and shounen ai.

After reading all the comments, i must say that some people don't really understand the word "romance".
this word can affect any type of relationship, be it boy x girl, girl x girl, or boy x boy. it doesn't matter. romance = love. plain and simple.
that goes to show that a yaoi manga tagged with romance is definitely acceptable since what the two main characters of any yaoi manga feel is romance/romantic love between the two of them.

I was actually pretty surprised that there's a LOT of comment in here. Because usually yaoi manga with only one chapter, only have few comment in batoto.. And.. they were fighting about romance and what not

So shoujo is a genre that is directed for girls, quite right, quite right! And romance means love between a man and a woman! Then do tell me this, dear sir, why is it then that there are many literature, books, that is, not manga, of boy love which is listed as romance? By golly, the HORROR!
To think that PUBLICATIONS which consist of processes involving accurate genre filings would put such things as romance! Why do you suppose they would do such a heinous thing?! We should all ban together, JokerxHisoka, and join together to rid the world of this inaccurate deed!

Right, the invitation list would be huge, but there is one person we absolutely have to invite, and that is, ofcourse, our dear JokerxHisoka, who has enlightened us to the true meaning of romance. And we really want him to grace us with his honorable presence!
Once again, we should all learn to rely on you, for you are a much more reliable source of facts than Webster! After all, boys and boys means yoai and shonen ai, correct? And if romance truly does mean love between man and woman, then it is absolutely certain that the Shoujo category shouldn't exist! Because after all, why is it there when there is romance already? Troublesome, indeed!
Praise to you, JokerxHisoka, for taking the time out of your absolutely busy day to ACTUALLY RETURN on a manga that you already know is yaoi and to tell us how it's done once again! And I had feared that possibly you would have spent your time searching for shoujo manga and actually reading your preferred type of romance!
Ah, silly me. I mean to say, searching for romance manga. My goodness, shoujo, what was I thinking? It can't possibly be true that SHOUJO means love between men and woman, does it? After all, that's romance!
And of course, love between boys could never be romance, no? Webster certainly has it wrong, defining Romance as simply LOVE stories, no one should ever rely on such a source!
