Well, that's shoujo for you. This is definitely on the "naive kids" end of romance manga. But it's fun, and I cut it some slack for stories like ch.3, which for one thing doesn't have that dynamic at all, and for another has such a cheerful "girl gets to kick ass and still be feminine" message.
Um. Some of the girls were kinda cute (personality wise), but as far as I read, these 16 and 17 year old boys were still at the "pick on the one you like" stage of development. Like, 10? Kinda sad, so I stopped.
